Does anyone know if the bands are gonna be miming again this year? They said last time that they had to mime cus there wasn't enough time to set up each bands equipment. Red Face(

The line up looks great this year, especially wiv da Kaiser Chiefs, wOOt!! I just hope they're allowed to really perform.

Hard-Fi and Feeder to name two of the decent bands.. Pussycat Dolls also played live, as her voice wasn't up to scratch, McFly also played live, so not sure who you're really referring too... Ordinary Boys mimed some... but I think with the stage crew being so developed and educated in their field of work it doesn't take them two minutes to change the stage, plus it was all pre-recorded so if you watched it back on tv the crowd was drowned out a little so it may of seemed like they were miming,

I'm not bothered if acts like Pussycat Dolls or Girls Aloud mime, in fact I'd rather they did, but I will NOT be happy if the Kaiser Chiefs mime...especially considering ticket prices.

Haha yeah i agree. Well it would be nice if no one mimed though to be honest. If anyone does i will NOT be happy.

....ESPECIALLY if its Mark Ronson

I cant wait to see him, i actually cant wait.
Also looking forward to Cheifs, Calvin Harris, Just Jack.

well someone i know told me that they'd read somewhere that t4 had told some of the acts to mime and some acts refused. not sure why t4 would ask acts to mime though Confused weird.

I was watching from just in front of the VIP area and a bit disappointed that some of the acts were definitely playing to a backing track. The manics had a backing track, Sophie Ellis Bextor had a guide vocal track.

I agree that Girls Aloud should have mimed, their vocals were well off in parts, ? some of them a bit tipsy???

The bands on t'other stage were definitely live, The Hoosiers rocked!

I feel a bit cheated that they 'pretend' to set up all the gear but in reality a full band set up can't be turned around in 7 minutes.

I think that everyone sang live at least.
The 2nd stage had a better overall atmosphere and The Hoosiers followed bvy Mark Ronson was superb.

Also so glad that Calvin Harris was great=]

I agree the 4music stage was alot better and more relaxing! And the acts were much better to watch.
Akon was miming on the main stagen - how pointless?!
Also the maccabees on the 4music stage were the highlight for me personally!

Yup,

Incase you hadn't noticed, the artists always mime their instruments at T4OTB, but most of them do actually sing live. I believe if they (at least) sing live, they are classed as a 'live' act.

This is due to them trying to cram as many bands in as possible. You cannot physically change amps, drums, linechecks etc in the space of an ad break!

Some of them did it better than others; Manics were very good, as were the Kaiser Chiefs (who could have been playing as they were the last band on), Super Furry Animals seemed to mime everything.

Hats off to the new 4music stage artists. Each band played fully live, which was great. Notice how it took about 20 mins between bands, this is why.

I think its amazing how the 'bigger bands' mime on the main stage, yet the so-called smaller bands play properly on the smaller stage. Roll Eyes

Hope this clears things up!

Yeah i think the overll quality and sound was so much better on the 4music stage. I was so impressed with all the acts. Yup the long gaps inbetween the acts was because they were setting up all the equipment and soundchecking etc.
As for the main stage even though i thouroughly enjoyed it theres no way u cn set up someones equipment without soundchecking in the space of 5-7 minutes, impossible.
Great day though! Mark Ronson did it for me Big Grin
