My train was cancelled and the woman from Virgin Trains said they were all cancelled. We asked at the Birmingham Station help desk and they said go to the National Express bus place- so we went. We missed a bus to W-S-M, but we finally got tickets for 4 hours later. We were stuck in Birmingham (shopping great though) and we finally got there. On the way back to Nottingham- we had to go all the way to London just to get back!
Please tell us your stories on how you were affected by the floods.

We were supposed to be getting the train from manchester to birmingham to bristol to western. The guy at the station said the trains to bristol from birmingham were cancelled and told us to go via london. We asked if there was a bus from birmingham and he got all sarky with us and said "only if you've got a bus that floats". We had to go to london on the way back too.
We traveled from Scunthorpe and usually it only takes about 3 an 1/2 4 hours to get there but it took us 8 hours! we was stuck on the M5 travelling at snail pace it was awful we set off at half 8 in the morning and didnt get ther while 4 5 o clock couldnt belive it! luckly we came down on the Saturday so didnt miss or was late for T4OTB! thankgod! wasnt 2 bad comming back on Monday took us 4 hours like it should much better!!
We were meant to be going from Crewe to Bristol but the trains between Birmingham and Bristol were cancelled so we had to go to Manchester and then to London Euston, get the underground to Paddington and then go from there to WSM. The man on the Virgin Train told us that Paddington Station was closed so we would be stuck in London but it was the only place on the way there that wasn't flooded. The way back was fine thankfully. Well worth it though. =]
We were ment to be getting the train from cheltenham to weston on the sat, staying overnight at purn then goin to the beach in the morn. the train station was shut so we ended up driving down on the sunday morning at like 3!!! we were on the beach by like 5 and bleddy freezin but it was worth it cus we were right at the front and had a well good veiw. Purn were really understanding and let us stay the night on sunday and monday to make up for our lost night. then we got the train back on the monday cus they were all up and running again.
I was going to go there as an extra weekend ont he family holiday and meet up with some of my friends. But the campsite we were going to go to flooded so that was called off and so we decided not to go This year should be good though.
