Just fallen off my chair - ouch, my favourites on my tv guide has flagged up that the new series is starting within the next couple of weeks. Horray !!

Ch4 Scrapheap Challenge - Sunday 15/04/2007 at 17:40
Lisa Rogers and Robert Llewellyn return with the technological challenge series in which two teams must create a piece of machinery using junk from a scrapyard. The two competing sides, the Beach Bums and the Vikings, attempt to build human cannonball devices.
Like you I am also glad I was sitting down at that moment. There is a God after all. Thought this day would never come. OK just going through the diary now to cancel anything at all that may have been in there for the next lot of Sundays.
The latest news on Steve G's website shows that this series will be shown in two halfs. First half april 15 to june 3rd then second series in the autumn.
Thanks to steve g for keeping us updated or we would all miss it.
Blimey its actually going to be on television! I was beginning to think those 4 days were all an elaborate dream.... How will that work showing it in two halves? Seems strange when its based on a heats to final format?
Yay ! That's only four days away. This came out of nowhere !
I suppose the reason they are splitting the show in two is because everyone goes on holidays in summer and advertising revenue would be lower. That's why summer TV is always so bad...

As another of the Series 9 "patient ones", I too am really glad that the series is finally going to get aired, after all, it's only a year since it was filmed............
It's a pity that the series is being split in two though, as from what I can gather it's a cracking good series.

You will find watching it after a year very surreal, they will show bits you forgot about, bits you did when you thought no one was looking and if you wonder why when you spend over a hour doing "noddies and wides" they only show 30 seconds worth !

I'm used to this. I once spent three days filming, only to find that the only time I appeared in the final production was for about 10 seconds at most...........
Still, the good news is that I've heard from several sources now that this series is set to be a cracker. I know for sure that it's got at least two really cracking teams in it!

I hope so, the last series was not all that, very little shown of the builds and most of what was built didn't work.
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised to see Scrapheap on the schedules... I was checking the listings yesterday, looked at today's programs, and saw it there!
I haven't seen it advertised at all on C4, E4 or More 4... OK, I don't watch those channels all the time, but I would have thought I would have caught some kind of trailer!
Anyway, it's back... that's the main thing!

Is anyone able to advise me if the first prog is gonna be repeated on more 4 or channel 4 cos I missed it, I can see next weeks episode I think is on more 4 on demand.
It seems almost to have been a last minute scheduling change, as last I heard from RDF Series 9 wasn't going to be aired until September.
I only noticed it when the EPG flagged it about a week ago, followed a day later by an email out to all participants from Neil at RDF.
I enjoyed tonight's show, particularly as it gave me a chance to see how the Beach Bums got through to the second round, and earned their reputation as a bunch of jokers. They came to me with a stack of health warnings from the crew..............
