Well done to the Supermodels, a good build and a good machine worthy of a place in the final.
10 hours to connect a new looking compressor to a brand new engine, cut a hole in the bottom of a propane bottle and fix it to a old boat hull, pity that cannon wasn't real otherwise the result would have been very different.
I could not agree more with sj_4x4. The Supermodels without doubt made the better build but to be fair the Rustys were much more like a team now they DUMPED Mario for whatever reason is given on air, Mario was a wate of screen time. The new guy Cheq was game on for anything. The outcome was typical scrapheap in that the best team lost, and I would not be at all surprised if the Rustys somehow manage to pull it out the bag again for the final.
Shortly after the filming of the powerboat challenge, Mario was taken seriously ill. I'm not going to go into details here but I thought the way that he was portrayed on the show was uncharitable to say the least. Poor man was dead on his feet during filming. Maz was on the team because Bob and Paul and him were mates - they decided to do the show for the crack.
I work with Bob and he asked me to do the show at the last minute - I believe I had 5 day's notice!!!
Seem to be some very knowledgeable people on here - have you had a go at it? If not maybe you should step up and show us how it's done ;-)
Fair play Cheq and thanks for the insight. It is clear that editing does play a major role in the way thing are portrayed on screen but there is also an awful lot you can personally read from a persons facial expressions and general attitude. I hope Mario is much better now and our regards to him when you next speak. I thought you stepped in really well Cheq.
