Does anyone have any news on series 8, such as a planned broadcast date (official or otherwise)?

Many thanks,

Hello, I'm new here. Sorry for my grammar (I'm from Poland). Scrapheap Challenge is my favorite TV program for couple of years.

Is it true that 2005 series will be the last seires? If yes, it's horrible!

So hold on when does the new series start? Sundays only feel complete for me when SHC is show in the evenings.

Just read this on the llew.co.uk forum:

----
Scrapheap Challenge series 8 starts going out 5:30 pm Sunday the 18th September on Channel 4. 22 episodes all in, goes on until after Christmas. Some truly classic scrap heading your way, really good teams this year, just been doing voice overs which is when I first see the finished shows, and they are very good. Lisa looks stunning as usual and is very funny, the teams are very good, the new bits we do, 'Scrap Labs, are funny and informative, like, how does a vacuum suction plate work. I bet you all knew but I didn't. Some boating, some flying, some mud, dust, sparks, leaks, fires, all the usual disasters, oh, and the tragic old bloke with the bad hair, he's there.
----

Can't wait Smile

22 episodes does sound superb doesn't it. Smile

Robert has also since posted to say that they're about to start filming Scrappy Races series 3, too.

Proper job!

According to my copy of the Radio Times (London edition) there are 15 episodes and it starts this coming Sunday at 5.35pm.

My six year old son adores this programme and loves watching all the previously shown Scrapheap Challenges as well.

From the SHC2005 website:

"Scrapheap Challenge is currently looking for teams to take part in next year's competition. Visit the apply section to enter your team before 27 Jan, 2006."

Or is this an elaborate bluff along the lines of "If you would like to take part in series 9 of Knightmare..."
