Does anyone know if they have decided who is going yet. I got through to the next stage, but now waiting to hear from them. Its the not knowing that kills ya. I wasn't bothered before, i applied not thinking i'd get through, went to the auditions thinking i'd not get past the first stage, but now i'm starting to really want it. Someone said they had already decided, but then they are still looking for applicants on the website. I think i'm being impatient cause they said 4-6 weeks and its only been 2 weeks so far. And does anyone know if there are any more stages or if that is it???

No I don't believe they have picked the Islanders as yet, auditions are still taking place I believe.

However I heard that at the last production meeting it was decided that the winners next year will be sharks

So still in with a shot then......but there were loads at the audition, there seems to be a lot of auditions, so it might be a shot, but think its gonna be a very slim shot.
Sharks to win hey, i don't know why but i've always liked the sharks, but that said i think people are very sceptical, i'd like to think its not rigged, but in all honesty IF i got the chance to be on there, winning is irrelevant.

Well good luck if you get it, No I dont think its rigged as such - that was just a joke, But I do think that you have to remember its a TV show - and that means that things are most likely done during the filming and editing stages - that would impact on what we see on the TV.

I hope they go back to it being a bit more about the experience and the people and less about the competition. I mean after all - the prize money is so amazing - I guess the 21 winners made just under 5 thousand this year each.

In all honesty mate the prize money aint that much, not to make someone spoil their experience, i'd pay double just to have the chance to experience that.
I agree with you with the editing thou.
I think what people should do with the prize money is everyone put it towards the lot going back to the island. 100k should cover all of them including the losers.
I've always toyed with the idea, but i think i might seriously think about travelling, seeing the world and maybe find my own desert island

lol - well that was my point - by the time its split that many ways - they might as well go the whole way and do something for all of them like go back and have a reunion.

Not sure they got on well enough this year to even think about doing that though. I never liked the competition side of it that much myself anyway, especially this year as that was the main focus. Well at least from the editing point of view anyway, which is a shame.
