I don't think they realised the detrimental effect this would have on their tribe. Nevertheless, I loved it... couldn't have been better if it was scripted even. Loads of really bad statements between the two arrivals. Of course, had Michael been going home I would feel different. A better plan would have been telling both arrivals the same thing...

its a shame the way mike got treated but its a game and the tigers did it for the good of there island and its clear matt would of chosen tigers anyway

When she and Diva were on Tigers, Diva seemed to fit in quite well, but Lauren wasn't really feeling it. When they went to Sharks, Lauren loved it and made no secret of the fact that she wanted to pick Sharks. Diva had a good time also. So, when it came to making a decision, Lauren really strongly wanted Sharks, while Diva was more undecided but leaning towards Tigers. I suspect both girls realised that Diva would stand a better chance of getting picked on Tigers as she was the only one that really fitted in over there -- that's probably the main reason that she was favouring that option. It wasn't clear who the Sharks would pick, but I suppose Lauren would have felt that she had more chance of getting picked by them than the Tigers. Anyway, eventually a tearful Lauren talked Diva round and was then picked by Sharks. In hindsight, Diva felt that perhaps she should have stood her ground as by caving in she had fatally reduced her own chance of getting picked. The discussion actually followed very similar lines to this week: Lauren argued that she was 100% Shark whereas Diva was only 50% Tiger, which was the same sort of argument that Matt used.

Dirty tactics, I felt really uncomfortable watching Mike be shut out and people chosing his fate behind his back. He agreed to pick Tigers thinking he had a fair chance when everyone but him knew he didnt. Doesnt sit well with me.
I also think Matt shut out the Sharks and did not give them a chance knowing he had a guaranteed place on Tigers and that ruins the game for me in a way, and takes the achievement away from the Tigers winning a new arrial. It would have been nice for them to win one on merit alone.

I new that Tom would tell his new tribe the shrks and the new arrivals about the tigers new plan, however whos plan was it oooooooo it was tom's also by him telling the new arrivals could work eaither way. funny how he didnt say it was his idea. Sounds like ts Vicky who stays, however they will need ot level both islands up for the final beachparty ( they always do this ). Sounds like Michael and Sarah want to leave the hawk isand does this mean there will be new arrivals but with more twists?

Maybe, though I suspect that ultimately each new arrival gets a pretty good idea of what's likely to happen. Mike would have suspected when he caved in that he may have booked his ticket home. At the very least he would have suspected that the other choice, Sharks, would have given him a much better chance of survival.

It was very sly, I can't blame Matt though, it was all Tom's idea, the others were well uncomfortable about it, poor Mike, but I'm sure he'll be ok on the other island with the nice people.

but having a suspicion is one thing, having it all signed sealed and delivered behind his back is in a different league.

Tom is definitely the main game player in all this. While the Tigers were worrying about the ethics of phase 1 in Tom's plan, it didn't seem to occur to any of them that he has a phase 2 up his sleeve! Now that he's over on Sharks it looks like Tom plans to blow the whole thing wide open and use the Tiger tactic against them as a slur on the character of their island! They could counter by pointing out that it was all his idea but I dare say he'll have anticipated that! I posted earlier that the real problem comes when they destroy the trust within their tribe. In this respect, Tom's been quite clever in that he's left the lies and deceit behind him and can now happily settle in with the sleaze-free Sharks with whom he will probably be fairly open and honest -- he's the major player but has kept the whole thing at arms length.

I couldn't believe the Tigers went along with the idea considering it's source. I think Tom will definitely do the dirty on them later on.
I noticed all the guys were willing to go along with it but not the girls. I think that has something to do with males generally being more competitive, winning at any cost.
Tiger island needs a strong female character just like it needed a strong male character last year.

Why can't they just play the game fairly, there is no need to make Shipwrecked evil, imagine how mike must of felt, what a horrible, disgusting thing to do, it wasnt even as if matt's personality won him the place, completely unfair and out of order. Hawks, all the way now, don't like any of the tigers anymore cheating and evil gits, just imagine for one minute who bad Mike must of felt when he found out that he had been stitched up, i feel sooo sory for him! Sharks i can't stand Keris and now Tom is there argghhh, but worst of all Lauren arghhhhhhh, i hope Hawks some how comeback and go mental, find out what the Tigers have done, and give them all a slap!!
Tigers, why oh why, Looks like the Tigers and Lauren are out of the same mould!!
She soo should have chosen them!
True, but Tom is still a snake cos he only suggested it so he could leave Tigers, I wonder if he tells sharks it was HIS idea? Maybe now Tom has gone, Tigers won't resort to those dirty under-handed tactics again. The hawks could so 'have' the other 2 islands lol

yeah, Toms playing it well, from his and the sharks point of view. Most of them are just there to have a good time it seems, but I think Tom has bigger plans! Makes for much more interesting telly though, it would be boring if everyone was really nice to each other all the time

Dirty tactics? Certainly - I'm not sure that's such a bad thing, after all it is a competition, although personally I wouldn't have wanted to do it. Playing the game well? Absolutely not! I'd go as far as to say The Tigers are completely thick! The whole tactic depends on no-one else finding out - I can't believe it didn't occur to them that, with Tom about to change sides, the Sharks would definitely find out. (If they were going to do it, they should have said No then waited until Tom left). And now imagine if you were a new arrival - you spend time with the Tigers, then go to Shark Island and hear what happened. You'd worry that if the Tigers hadn't approached you to make a deal, they may have done with the other new arrival. I don't think the Tigers have any choice now - they have to tell all new arrivals what they did, explain that it was Tom's idea and that, with hindsight, they regret it. I think things are about to get much dirtier! The sad thing is, the main thing Tiger Island lacks is a character to spark everyone else, like Adam or Danny on Sharks. Mike was much more likely to provide that than Matt, yet thanks to the deal they have a newbie who they wouldn't have chosen and, from first impressions, isn't going to add much to the island.

True - although there's the potential for it to backfire, if the Tigers play it right. (I'm not sure they're smart enough to do that though).

It's probably gonna backfire as Tom tells the sharks about it next week. He'll probably tell the new arrivals as well and then they'll be wary of the tigers

Yes this is true, however not every new arrival will think like this. Depends on who they get on with the most. Also who when tigers realise what tom has done.

Yeah, that could work. Once the new arrivals see how annoying Tom is, they'll understand that they needed to get rid of him and this was the only way!
