Hi all. I am feeling that Nick isnt getting enough attention at the moment even though he is clearly the best looking boy there!!
Does anyone else think so? i hope he features in heat magazine as i want a picture on my wall. He has now knocked off Peter Andre as my number one man!
He does have a girlfriend - check his profile page. She's called Clare. Have you seen the "Nick Question?" thread? Nick himself has been posting on it! Or at least someone claiming to be him!
I think Nick is an interesting charachter. Although he clearly has good survival skills he is not a natural leader. He is aware that James and Char are more charismatic and better communicators than him and hence both more leader material. Also he is aware that at this stage in the series all 3 need to be very bonded as a team / unit with no leader because if James or Char were to become a leader he might come into conflict with them because he has the best survival skills. The way he has handled the whole sarah thing demonstrates this. If he was a good leader / manager he would have dealt with her 3 problems: not sure what role she can fill, laziness and greed in a more constructive way instead of just using her a scape goat to bond the rest of group. the way the show is edited, it appears that it is him that is being by far the most negative about her and it is he who makes remarks like "she is not one of us" Yes she is an absolute pain, but as a leader, he should have delegated her to fishing last week, you do not have to be big and strong to fish as more intelligent Riva very quickly noticed! Having said this, it would be interesting if Nick's behaviour would be any different if he used his little brain and realized that the 3rd island are in the competition and if they manage to keep all the "rejects" instead of letting them run home to "Mummy" which Sarah no doubt will soonish, they would "hands down" win the competition. Or maybe he has noticed but reckons they should ostrisize the weakest ones as they don't need to keep everyone. However there have only been 4 arrivals so far ..... Thoughts anyone?
It really is fantastic to see all your speculation guys in response to your small essay jojo, hawk island isnt full of 'rejects', to give you a taste of the sort of people we get coming to us, just look at what happened between lauren and diva this week....our brigade are more genuine and honest and dont use underhand tactics to stay on Shipwrecked. Also screw the competition, you go out there for the experience. As far as the leader thing goes, we are a family unit and there is no leader/manager, We have more of an interest in other things then getting into a power struggle! i think the only thing left to be said is Sarah is a lovely girl, she isnt quite everyones cup of tea and i believe you have seen about an hours worth of a few weeks footage and not been living out there 24/7. survival of the fittest. xx
I'm still laughing about Nick saying about the "island song" - just spot on and hilarious. To reply to Jojo - I understand what you're saying about Sarah not being made to feel like one of the group and maybe they could have tried harder but in all honesty the only way to feel integrated is to actually muck in whereas Sarah (admittedly this is from 2 mins footage) appears to constantly claim she can't do things because she's small and a bit rubbish. Sarah so wanted to be on the main islands she's been unable to take part in what could/would have been the best adventure....
Also, I don't think any of the islands have leaders - there are people who come to the fore much more but leaders aren't what this show is about so I don't see how Nick is to blame for that.....
nick, do kind of disagree with your "survival of the fittesrt" though as it kind of goes against the idea of you guys being a family / unit. but i respect the fact that you had the "balls" to retaliate to my opinion.
ummm im a little confused. surely if nick says 'survival of the fittest' that is agreeing with jojomarys claim-
'Or maybe he has noticed but reckons they should ostrisize the weakest ones as they don't need to keep everyone.'
i simply think nick doesnt get on with sarah, and tbh when she came she didnt seem v.happy to be there. if anything she has ostracized herself. again this is purely speculation about a show which is heavily edited... but diva kept saying 'i'm so happy to be here' and wanting to help. sarah despite being 'small' couldve helped if she wanted. just because he has the survival skills doesnt mean he has to be the leader. it is about the experience and if sarahs not enjoying hers then she should be allowed to leave- nick should not feel any duty at making her stay, just for a competition. i am still unsure to your theory about the hawks being able to win (in the way you say they will) cos surely most people will stay on hawks, and they will get an arrival each week (probably). i think shipwrecked definitely has more twists to offer...

Nick - if this is you it's good to see your side of the story. Unfortunately, we only get to see what is screened and regardless of any creative editing what I saw was a very young, naive girl being slowly excluded from a group by what amounted to subtle psychological bullying - with you apparently being usually first to speak behind her back. Ironic as a bully is one of the type of person you would least liked to be shipwrecked with. You did not go through the same acception/rejection process the rest of the group went through, you were lucky enough to be selected to be put on the third island beforehand. Therefore, although you may not imagine it is in your "job description", you needed to offer that much more support to any new arrival especially one who is pretty much displaying classic signs of depression. I dislike your throwaway comment at the end here where you said "survival of the fittest" - you are on an island game show followed by tv cameramen not in Iraq or Afghanistan.
