I HATE THE PEOPLE JUST GO TO AN ISLAND TO WIN COZ THAT ISLAND HAS THE MOST PEOPLE!!!!!!I LIKE THE LOYAL PEOPLE WHO CHOOSE BECAUSE THEY WANT 2 HAVE A GREAT TIME THAT THEY HAVE!!!!!
no it's basically all about the exsperience everyone knows that!!!!!!!it is great winning but u shouldnt get obsessed about winning and also it's more about the loyalty 2 the team and friends u make there!!!!!!!!!
Yes it is a good experience and a lot of people say that, but the basic incentive to go on these reality shows, is winning the prize money. Maybe I'm just cynical. I would love to think people went on those programmes to show how loyal they were, to make friends and enjoy the experience, and some of the shipwreckers are doing that, but some are also out to win and they'll do anything to make sure they are on the winning team. When money is involved, people will try to win it otherwise what is the point of having prize money in the first place, if they wanted a nice show where people could have a good experience and enjoy making friends, they would sell it like that and they wouldn't offer a prize at the end, and if they hadn't offered prize money you can bet half of the people who applied for Shipwrecked wouldn't have bothered.

~~♥♥People called Jen should be nice and not at all bitchy... it's the law ♥♥~~
didnt the 1st ever shipwrecked hav no prize money? didnt watch it but they prob enjoyed it. i didnt like it wen ben lunt wanted to move over to sharks for the experience and james told him not to because its about the game and they wer here to win as a team. thers no point winning a load of money and saying 'i won' if you havnt got mates from their to prove it. i wudnt go for da money, id go for the friendships u get out of it.
Its not even alot of money that they are going to win. I think shipwrecked is one of those shows you'd go on for the experience rather than the money and the fame. As opposed to Big Brother where most people are in it for the money!
Winning is still good though! I'd rather win a couple of grand then make a load of new mates! My life is fine the way it is now, with the mates i have in it!
Will and Paul fan, and nuttytarti, what nice people you are!!
I don't think that people do it just to make friends...people aren't that nice when money's involved. However, I do think that most people do it for BOTH.
I think that, with Terri for example, she will probably stay on Sharks because she gets on with the people AND they have a good chance of winning.
I certainly couldn't spend more than a month in an intense situation such as that with people I didn't like, so being friends with people definitely comes into it...it makes the experience more bearable and it also makes the atmosphere likeable for new arrivals. However, if I was to come in, say, 2 weeks before the end, I would definitely stuff how well I get on with the people and go for the Island I think has a best chance of winning (if it's that close, which it probably will be).
im totally agreeing with nuttytarti.. the only reason i support sharks is because i think all of the people on that island are the same sort of people as me and i think i would really get on with some of the people especially naomi, elisa, amy, joe and stevie. i would love to go on shipwrecked for the experience! it looks like an amazing holiday to somewhere so special! i dont think it matters if u win or not becoz whatever happenes, you are going to have had the time of your life and made amazing friends!!!
I think youve got to remember that the group wins £70,000 which divides into the individuals on the Island and they are out there for 5 months. If they dont win they get nothing and although the experience maybe the greatest thing ever, i couldn't go 5 months with no income coz im skint enough already, when i got back id be really in debt.
Yes, it is all about being out there and enjoying the beauty of total island life in an exotic location. But once there, the novelty soon wears off and you start living and breathing the competition. That is why the losing island is so drained and sad at the end of it all.
