I think he was right but am I biased because I like him and don't like Keris?

Question:
Was Danny wrong to build the communal hut?

Choices:
YES - no1 wanted it and he should have spent the time building bedrooms instead
NO - no1 else had to lift a finger and he did it for every1

 

If the whole team asked him not to build it, he shouldn't have done - he could have waited until after the bedrooms were built and it wouldn't have caused an issue, it just goes to show what little respect for other people's feelings he has. I wasn't keen on him to begin with and watching that made me content that my first judgement of him was right

i dunno, when he was building it i was a bit like what is he doing? its basically to assert his power over the team, hes so cocky etc but i had to laugh when all the others found him and were sort of like well now hes done it, its not a bad idea. if something like that had happened on tigers, all hell would have broken loose. it just goes to show what a laid back, cute team the sharks are, even if danny was out of line. even keris had to laugh!

(2006- tigers, 2007- tigers, this year- sharks!)

I thought it was funny

Danny is fast becoming my favourite, i thought Keris was gonna go mental, but Danny just used all of his charm on the sharks to get his extra communal area, i don't even think he did it to assert power, IMO i just think he likes seeing what he can get away with.
Full marks go to Keris though for taking it all in good humour.

I think he did the right thing, the other area wasn't big enough. He shouldn't have gone behind their backs and done it though, but it was funny to watch

I think that ultimately, if an island works together as a team, it has a better chance of winning.

It will be interesting to see what happens if there's a disagreement in the future - I'd love to see Danny's reaction if most of the Sharks agree on a particular course of action, but one of them decides ignore the others and do something else. There's certainly no way Danny can preach about sticking together and working as a team anymore.

I think he did the right thing. Keris seems to have forgotten that they will have others joining them, so they'd have had to build it at some point anyway.

Oh God, was it really that big a deal? It's not like he did something major!!! Keris seems to be about 56, not 26!!!!

Perhaps not a big deal but I don't think Danny should have done it. Shows how controlling he is and how he behaves when he doesn't get his own way. I'm not saying the others should have made him take it down but Danny must now be feeling he can do anything he likes .. trouble lies ahead ...

That's what I thought and if the others wanted bedrooms so much maybe they should have built them themselves. Although Danny did kinda go behind their backs... o well

Yes, but that hasn't happened yet. If he was to do that, it would obviously take over as the new crime of the century (but surely Danny isn't that evil)

Now what would have been diabolically evil, is if he had just built an extension to the first hut. The others see it and have a moan, then get over it. But then, when they enter the hut, they discover the second hut inside the first one!

i say no, because if they built all the bedrooms off the original communal area, then there would be nowhere to expand to because the bedrooms are in the way.

What's wrong with expanding from a bedroom, then moving the beds from the old room into the new room? The old bedroom now becomes part of the communal area.

After everyone had seen it they thought better of it!( Apart from one) I think it was a good idea...they might aswel have done it earlier than later!

He was wrong but with the right intention. My worry is that he did it so fast it may give way in future. I hope he did go back to re-do the knots. A small communial area is always claustrophobic but democracy must always hold even if the majority is not not right. It is true that the people with greater vision are always in the minority. Fortunately for Danny he also plays a leading role in their community. Without Keris on Shark Island Danny may soon gain absolute power like Crawford. How many leaders with absolute power ended well in History?
