Even though she's not one of my favourite hawkys I hope sarah doesn't leave because she's really funny and it would be nice to see her fit in or try to fit in on hawks.

Also her comment about the sun was cheesy but really deep and I actually loved it!

I think it may be too late now, but I agree it's a shame. I think if they'd identified things earlier they may have been able to turn it around. The Hawks all seem to recognise in hindsight that there's probably more they could have done to help, but all they can really do now is hope to learn from the experience.

It came across us affectionate teasing to me. Friends take the P out of me in the same way when I come out with some philosophical or poetic nonsense. I see it as a compliment...maybe I shouldn't. Eek

I actually find her pretty irritating to be honest but I still think the others have isolated her - not intentionally but still... Im glad they seemed to have recognised that they have not done all they could have.

I think that's probably how it was meant and Sarah seemed to realise that. Nevertheless there has always been a problem with her feeling slightly inadequate and excluded, so perhaps in that context they needed to be more directly affirming.

I agree. It's good the Hawks realise they haven't been very sensitive. I like them, they seem down to earth. It's understandable they weren't behaving well with lack of food and living in such a primitive way. Lord of the Flies comes to mind.

Yes, the other thing to remember is that Sarah's arrival took them completely by surprise. Had they been expecting her, they probably would have given some thought to how to make her at home and get her to fit in with island life. To some extent that's probably what they've been able to do for subsequent new arrivals.

The girl really does not helf herself - apart to the food that is Eek

Think she is very silly leaving now as there is bound to be someone coming to the Island that she will be able to bond with.

Think she would have been better on a 18 - 30's weekend Nod

I've got a mouse and he hasn't got a house I don't know why I call him Gerald.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse!

I don't think that they should beat themselves up too much if Sarah does leave. She clearly doesn't pull her weight on the third island. That's bearable if there's a large group but when you're only a few people, everyone needs to do their fair share. They can't afford passengers. Where they went wrong is not to confront Sarah earlier. They should have been more honest about their feelings. They didn't need to be nasty about it. Part of their upset now is guilt.
