Hi everyone, I have a query, hence the subject title. Firstly, in the application, it said 'would you be available for shipwrecked in autumn/september' (correct me if i'm wrong), so does this mean that it's filmed then, but only shown in 2007? And this leads on to my next question, I still went ahead with the application, because I will turn 18 on November 15th and presuming that filming does start in aut/sept, I would become an eligible candidate after the first 2-3 months of filming. Basically, do you think I stand a chance!? Cheers! P.S, I'm a model and some of 06 shipwreckers were models (Kev, Leah)
Nope sorry you're out of luck...firstly filming starts july/august until december....i suppose you might be eligable to go out there after ur 18th however i'm pretty sure people have to be 18 before application closes!
Okay, well apologies to the mods for going off topic but here's what I did Troy24:
I joined this website called modelsonline.co.uk which wasn't an agency like that or nothing, but it gave a whole list of a-z of agencies and from there I chose the most suitable ones (going on what work i want to do, location and age). I'd 100% recommend that you goto albamodel.info/alist.php to see which are the best agencies and also from there, goto to the scams pages to avoid them.
I applied to about 20 agencies through e-mail and only 1 of them was one i wanted eventually; POWER. I went and had an interview and then the week after went and done my photoshoot. Now my model sheets have been sent out to vodafone, bliss, J17, Shout, Sugar and lots of other things. I've just got to wait
also if you are suitable for modeling you might get scouted, or you can look on www.thelocalweb.net/index/MOD/index_MOD.htm where there is a list of model agencies, some of them are quite shit ones and others are really big like storm (who kate moss is with) fm agency, models 1, bond, *** etc... if you go on them and go to a contact page it usually has an email address to send some photos to if you would like to be a model, however you must exept that the agency will only contact you if you are suitable for modeling. I just sent 2 photos to bond and got signed up by them and send 2 photos i took off my webcam when i woke up in the morning to FM Agency in london and i got contacted by them aswel.

you must be stunning lee_1987, my problem though is that i have 7 tattoos and its hard enough getting a normal job so dont know if agencies will accept that thanx thou
Lee_1987, When I heard that Storm (one with kate moss lol) was going to be in H&M on Oxford Circus one day in April, I hot footed (well got on the train) it up there (I live on the coast in Essex) and went straight to H&M. I 'subtly' looked at the clothes for a bit, until I got bored of them just looking t me and not coming over, so I went over to them!
I just said that I was very interested in getting into modelling and was wondering if they would be able to consider me, but unfortunately, the only thing that let me down was my height. I'm 5'6", and they want girls of 5'8" at least . She did say that I was very pretty though and i know rejection comes with the territory, so I was fine !
Girls stop growing at 18, lads carry on growing til they're 21 LOL. Fashiondude, it's not about if someone is 'fit' or not, it is if you are photogenic. Most clients have hundreds of different looks they want to create which one model alone simply wouldn't be able to do.

What do you become when you are on the books of a model agency then? I've only been with them for a couple of weeks, bloody hell, give em chance to get a cliental reply

Hey,the best thing for you to do, is go to the type of places where you are likely to get scouted (ie: topshop on oxford street, the agencies are there almost everyday), that way theres no way you will get ripped off and at least you know you are likely to be with a reputable company who will act as your agent. Im a designer so have a lot of experience dealing with models and agencies. A lot of the agencies arent interested in things such as if you are stunning or "fit", they want people who can be viewed as a blank canvas, ie: have a clear complexion, standard model size proportions, and good height. My advice would be to not pay to get some portfolio photots done but just get a friend to take a face close up and a full body shot and send that along with your stats to some reputable agencies, if they are interested they will persue you! Yeah I just took some home snap shots and sent them to like I said, about 20 agencies. I live on the coast in Essex, and it's would become very expensive indeed if I were to go up to london allmost everyday in the hopes of getting spotted though. I only persued the Modelling career after the J17 magazine wanted me to do some modelling for then when I was 14. That alba site that I metioned before, is like the bible to all models, I advise anyone to take the time to read what it has to say!
Out of the 20 agencies I applied to, about 8 got back to me saying they were interested. though from reading Alba, I knew that at least 3 of them weren't legit (not properly follwing the DTi act) and had been investigated before. Thankfully the agency that I'm with; POWER, is one of the top agencies to be with accoriding to ALba. I'm very happy with them also :d
so hope i get on, because they did have a few models on there
