That’s quite a good idea actually… round my way people use black bin bags and Hessian sacks, the only problem is that they are more noticeable.

The more speed cameras that are put out of action the better. It's not as if the money gained from them is spent on improving the UK's roads, most of the money is paid straight to Europe so that some French fisherman can buy a new boat or to Spain or something stupid like that. Well done Gordon!

so do speed camera's only spot the speeding? or if a serious accident happend would the camera's pick that up,or what if a twock took place and the camera's were covered up,hmmm

The cameras take still images whenever they are triggered by excess speed, they wont take a picture of an accident because at the time of the picture being taken the car in question would still be travelling along safely above the speed limit. Speed Cameras are just part of the Labour parties tax scheme.

The reason we have speed cameras it to stop pratts like you going too fast and causing accidents.

In most cases speed is not the cause of shunts. The main cause is people that pull out of junctions when they shouldn't or do something equally stupid at low speed.

so how would you feel if someone that could have been caught on a speed cam hurt someone from your family but got away with it coz of some cf would he be so great then

I doubt anyone from my family would be stupid enough to stand in the road when there was a car coming. But if they did then it would be their fault not the drivers.

I got knocked off my bike. It didn't half hurt. I broke a rib. Some tosser pulled out in front of me and I couldn't stop in time. Should I have reported him to the coppers?

You should have done Pat, if you do it now and have the details. And a report from the hospital, get every bit of evidence(SP), and go and claim an all.

I think the amount of speed cameras we have in this country is ridiculous and the places where they put some of them is even more ridiculous.
If speed cameras have been proven to reduce the amount of accidents on our roads, then, happy am I.

Speed Cameras are yet another way of getting tax money off people. They are introduced under the pretence of cutting accident rates but they have no effect, as it's often not the people who speed that cause accidents but people who are incapable of driving properly and go about well below the limit crashing into things.

speed cameras are only taxing you if you are breaking the law. if you don't break the law, you don't pay anything. try it. it's great.

I did hear from certain peeps that a lot of the money from fines from speed cameras gets sent abroad to poorer countries in the EU...how do we all feel about that if it's true?

Yeah I've already heard about that, and to answer your question: Very Annoyed.

The money paid into the EU by the UK is just about the same as what Spain gets out of it, we however get nothing from the EU apart from laws and restrictions.

Im not European, im English and would rather notdo what those PC wimps tell me.
