I dont think ramsay is a bully I think that people just don't understand him. I believe he gets the best out of people wen he pushes them 2 their limit and if that means he has 2 scream and shout then so be it. What do u think?
GR has the rare insight of not taking fools gladly, he just does it in a very forceful way. It is astounding, almost rude to a person of his experience and quality, that people claim to be a chef as successful as him or have the arrogance to presume they are better.
GR is very passionate about what he does and understandably is gobsmacked that those who profess to be good have absolutely no drive or passion about being a chef.
He does not really bully because he does not belittle people but their product and the methods they use produce it.
My first view of gordon was about a year ago watching Hells kitchen US. It was absurd, a chef opening a restaurant with 20-30 people that had never cooked before (was he really surprised they ordered in pizza?), and he went off his nut.
After watching Kitchen knightmares and others I figured this was an american take on things. I really have more faith in americans than that, but the tv producers obviously don't. Hence you see the bully.
After seeing others like "the real gordan ramsey" and " kitchen Knightmares" put me in a new mind. He knows what he wants, and he may be agressive, but he knows how to get it.
Seeing Boiling Point...if he bullies his staff, why would all his staff follow him to a new restaurant? For his 2nd restaurant he made the head chef a partner. He wants quality and he rewards it.
Saying that he does sometimes go over the top with personal attacks...But he's Gordan Ramsay, he would not be on TV if he did not put on a show
gordon ramsey is an inspiration to anyone, he cant be doing with any lazy louts or people who are dreamers!! he s real!! thats why he s a very sucessful buisnessman, and for saying he s a bully thats rubbish he pushes people to the limit, theres nothing wrong in that!most people need a kick up the backside especially some of the kitchens he has entered!!! go ramsey go!!
The way the media portray him as, is only a small fraction of his serious personality i think.
I mean, shows like Kitchen Nightmares, especially the US shows, all they want to capture is him spitting out the "F-Word", and any mishaps and arguments with fellow staff!
I mean if you read his book, you realise there is so much more to him than the hard-ass chef that always causes an argument, and in the end, in every single show, his behavior does pay off and changes people.
Shows like The F-Word are better i think, in most episodes it shows you him at home and outside of the kitchen, and when he is in other peoples homes, such as the Sunday Lunch clips, he is totally different because he is not under pressure too.
Actually, I think the way they portray him in The F Word isn't so bad, he's a lot worse in Hell's Kitchen. What I find the most interesting is that he'll be yelling and yelling at the commis, and then he goes out to talk to the people really nicely. It's obvious that he's just trying to get the best out of his cooks. Nevertheless, he's probably the chef that yells the most at his staff.

If teachers were allowed to be like him, perhaps we would have a better academic result and behaviour in schools.
Teachers would love to be able to tell pupils off, but some children would just wet themselves if you shouted oat them like Gordan Ramsey shouts at trainee chefs.
Teachers have a rough time with pupils, most of the problems start at home, parents need to have a more active role in THEIR childrens lives.
Children need to have respect for themselves as well as for their parents, sadly kids dont today, and that is a sad reflection on todays society.
Some children at 10 years of age are unable to read very basic books, mostly because their parents do not take the time to help their kids to learn at home, Teachers all over th world hope that the children have supportive parents so that the kids learn better in school.
So, Laetitia it is not shouting at the kids will make the true difference, it is the extra care and SUPPOPRT that parents give their children that would make the true difference to the children today OK.
No Gordon is not a Bully!! He is a very confident and knows his stuff when it comes to food and business. He could tell me off anyday if it meant i could end up cooking like him!!

I totally agree with you- it may come across as a form of bullying to many but Gordon has a massive passion for food he is merely and utimately attempting to instil this same level of dedication to his kitchen companions.
i don't think he is either tbh. He's a perfectionist and he is right to demand perfection from his staff. But.. i think TV makes him look bad also! but that is just me tho!
If Mr Ramsay was in any office or factory in the UK the persons on the recieving end of his abussive outbursts would certainly have grounds for an action against him, he is pasionate about food but so are Hugh Fernly and Jamie Oliver and I do not see them shouting abuse at thier staff. I admire greatly his skill in producing amazing food and really do enjoy his programs, but I am sure that he is only (sadly) playing upto the publics expectations of him as portrayed by the media, if he had not swore in his first ever series I wonder how many poeple would of continued to watch his future programs had he then started withe the abuse? He does nothing to enhance his apearance nor to promote god and healthy food by issuing profanities at evry turn.

I don't see how you can make this comparison. You are comparing leisurely home cooking programs with real life restaurant real world cooking.
Nothing comes easy at the top. Ramsay has leadership skills and respect from people who work with him. It's hard to gain respect being a soft touch.
At the end of the day Ramsay is not just a guy in the office, he is the guy at the top. People can knock his methods but he is one of the most successful chefs in the world. Results speak for themselves and if other people can do better then all the best to them.
