The best Butchers around here is Thacham Butchers In Newbury they will cut all meat cuts to your requirements and mince any trimming not the cheapest but the best

It's got to be Lishman's of Ilkley. He was on last night's show, making black pudding. Great service and real quality meats. Best pork pies in the area, possibly the country.

Another vote for Lishmans. We go their regularly to stock up and our Christmas meat always comes from them.

Their preprepared chicken kievs, spare ribs, meatballs in sauce are all excellent and my daughter loves their proper chicken nuggets.

I used to work for abrilliant butcher but now whee I live all the local butcher shop have closed down making way for the supermarkets. Booths is my local one and they arent too bad, but my ocal city market is good.

I have been meaning to go to leeds food market but haven't got around to it.. has anyone gone there? is it worth the bus trip?(i HATE buses!)

Leeds market, worth a trip, not quite up to Barcelona standards, but you could probably buy absolutely anything you want there - butchers row, fish stalls, fruit and veg, Asian, Caribbean foodstuffs then all the household stuff, carpets, electrical etc etc. Full of characters too.

You don't need the bus either, you obviously go to Ilkley so get the train from there to Leeds.

i actually live in outer leeds its just that bit to far to walk! hmm...might pop into the market then in the week...thanks for ur help!x
