This episode has to be my all time favourite of Kitchen Nightmares.
GR's first sight of the Pub/Restaurant in Lampeter got him started straight away. Bright blue Pub slap bang in the middle of scenic countryside...yuk! But that was nothing compared to meeting the owners.
Short dumpy ex-boxer with Italian blood running thorugh his veins, and feisty Welsh wife. Both continually bickering and arguing. They even turfed customers out despite them losing £1000's a week and the business going rapidly downhill.
Ramsay certainly met his match in the foul language stakes once these two started and was totally gob smacked at their attitude. But he was determined to show them how they could turn it all around.
He told them they could no longer carry on arguing and fighting as all they were doing was scaring the customers away.
Amazingly this turned out to be one of GR's success stories as when he returned three months later, sure enough they had taken his advice and the business was now making a profit....for the first time!
I was so impressed i'm looking to make a visit....so Fish 'n Anchor folks if you are reading....here's another customer!
Got to say that the new eps are really good, this could be the best series of Kitchen Nightmares ever. (except for the re-visited bits) Hopefully when they do a re-visit it will be a true re-visit with a very very short resume of the ep followed by at least 40 mins of the hour prog dedicated to how they have moved on. BTW welcome to the Ramsay appreciation society . He is a bit good isn't he?
