Whilst I enjoy Kitchen Nightmares USA (not as much as the original UK version though), the one thing that is all over the place is the way they edit the show together and try to make you believe that certain events are happening in front of the customers when in reality that doesn't seem to be the case.
Anyway I spotted this disclaimer at the end of the show last night (which I had to pause as it goes so fast).
The producers may have provided customers at the restaurant with a financial contribuition towards the cost of the meal.
The footage shot in this program has been edited such that in places it is shown in a different time sequence than actually shot.
I can't see why they have to edit the show together like that to make it seem like an argument is taking place in front of a packed restaurant when in actualy fact it's most probably happening after the place is shut. Not only is it patronising to viewers but it's misleading. They shouldn't be allowed to do that and I don't see the point. The show works perfectly without the need to manufacture scenes for the purpose of making it seem more dramatic.
They do it because they think we are idiots; making news not just reporting it is there game. real life is just boring apparently, as gordon might say he's adding basil to fresh the flavour up.
It was very noticeable last night. There were clocks on most walls and the order of events was obviously out of sequence. Why let the truth get in the way of a good story line?
These shows are made for the USA,they have to be sensationalised to make them attractive to that market, come on you all know what the average Yank is like.
