I LOVE shepherds pie, i havn't had it in probably 15 years though since i moved from my mom's house.. and yeah.. hers looked real homemade but the gravy in gordon's would just make it
Icetech... stuck in detroit.. we have no produce, only crime
Of course he looks 'poncy'. He's a total ponce. He's Scottish and cant cook other than British stuff. Killing eels? With Jonathan Ross? I ask you? Was that 'culinary'? No. It was another tabloid TV shitefest.
Cooking at home is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing. Not a fest of swearing and heart-attack inducing panic. We dont all cook for a bunch of second rate 'celebs'.
Originally posted by NickiJ22: again, i missed the show. please excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between cottage pie and shepherd's pie?
They are the same thing but shepherds pie is made with lamb (shepherds - lamb, geddit?! he he!) and cottage pie is made with beef (because...erm, cows live in cottages....)
Shepards = Minced lamb/mutton is used Cottage = Minced beef
However, I noticed that on both Gordon's & Mich's pie they topped them with cheese. Traditionally neither of these pies should be topped with cheese - that's called Cumberland pie........
so what my mother served up to us for many years was in fact cottage pie and not shepherd's pie.....? what's even worse is that she actually went to catering college and really should know the difference. me and her are going to have words. this revelation now throws everything she ever told me into disrepute. i don't think i can believe her about anything again ever

Go and pick your spots, because that would be more interesting than your posts on Gordon Ramsay. A little bit less of the Scots racism please, that could turn nasty.
