Apparently the new series starts in Nov, with Worzel & his mentor head travelling to Spain as well as Liverpool - with some verrrry stupid owners being humiliated...should be good viewing! Big Grin

Is it the same format as before? Do you know about when in November it is being broadcast? I sort of liked the last series as it was real restaurants/hotels that he was visiting.

I think it's a brilliant programme , but I cannot believe that any sane person would put themselves up for it !
On the other hand I can quite see disgruntled diners wanting to get Gordon into restaurants that they have had the misfortune to visit, here in the mountains behind Malaga the local cooking is on a par with that of "Old Mother Riley ", in fact I think she's alive and cooking not far from me !

The concept is pretty good though, I would be prepared to be humiliated (slightly Eek) if it propelled my business. Look at the 'Creole' Brighton lady, think she has just opened a 2nd restaurant..

I fancy going that way next time I am in Spain, I normally go Conil/Cadiz way but fancy a change. Can you recommend anywhere in particular that is nice and good for S/C. I hate not being able to cook when I am away and the food/produce in Spain is so wonderful.

Is this show going to have gordon? or someone else?

And i would kill for the chance to have him come into my place and honestly help see problems. The fact that people know hes coming and don't clean their restaurants is a joke.. they deserve what they get...

And if you are talking bout momma cherrie's soul food shack opening another place, that is great news. One of my favorite episodesSmile

Yes that was a great episode Ice...heard GR talking about her the other day whilst on his marathon book publicity tour.
He was also talking about the new series of Nightmares and his experiences, so I assume nothing has changed - wouldnt be the same without him...

Hi Gorg , the area arouund here is very beautiful in a typically spanish way it's the northern Axarquia,on the border with Granada .Unfortunately it's a culinary desert, and despite the fact that Velez-Malaga is intensively farmed the local produce is abysmal and lasts absolutley no time at all, definately "buy and cook," with very little choice of produce in the local shops and of a generally poor quality. Local markets, yes much better, but they only like to sell kilos of produce , not keen on selling small quantities.
Self catering here is generally all in private villas, which I have to say generally cost a fortune ,there are some very nice apartments above a local restaurant ,but they only have a hob , no oven,so limited cooking. This particular reataurant is one of only three in the area that is worth bothering about, the others are truely awful.

Lemon, no sorry i was only talking hypothetically. I have a girlfriend that has worked in nice places under evil chefs and i know i couldn't handle it... i would kill themSmile She used to come home crying some nights... alot of kitchens don't believe women should work in them.. so takes a strong one.

I couldn't handle being shouted at like that. I found when I was in a supervisory role that I got much more from people if I was more gentle in my approach, though I could be tough if I thought that people were taking the mick. I admire your girlfriend for doing the job. It is still very male dominated in catering. I suppose it is very high pressure and the steam has to be let off somewhere. If it is your ultimate responsibility to keep the kitchen afloat perhaps some amount of verbosity can be acceptable.

I had the awful feeling that I would be away , but thankfully I go 16th and am back before the next programme, not that I run my life around TV programmes I might add, but there's so little of any worth, that I don't like to miss the ones that are good, and anything with GR is definately good !
