Welcome to Ralf Rabbit. Lucky you going to see GR and Jamie. We have to suffice with the TV. Frown. Never mind. NickiJ if you are working does that mean perhaps the kidney op is off?

Oh well, I suppose we have waited this long for our special night out, we can wait a little longer. Shame Icetech has to wait an extra day to see GR. We will try not to spoil it for you Ice. 2 and a half hours to go. Big Grin

Hiya Sizz, agreed the dog doos were gross. Just goes to show you the restaurants with the big posh menues and fancy stuff don't always work, good simple stuff, full of flavour is where it is. The guy finally got the message though. Would have sent Alex packing. He couldn't get it together, over booking then asking the customer to leave as the next customer was there. I would have refused to go until I was ready. He was greedy and it backfired big time.

Ice, I thought it was worth watching. Some funny bits, lots of verbal abuse, usual GR stuff, more reference to donkeys, home truth's finally getting through, upset customers, poor service. NickiJ, GR would probably, given the opportunity show you his Cahoonas and cook them! If you can give up a kidney, he can give up his cahoonas Big Grin. Can you believe the turn around in his off season profits? GR obviously gave the correct advice and just in time too. Next week looks interesting.

Thats what we end up with here, loads of people coming over from the UK and "reinventing " themselves. We have no labourers on the costa, they are all master builders, and it's the same with bars and restaurants, half of them have never clutched a frying pan in anger ! Unfortunately the punters end up paying for total shit,GR certainly was'nt wrong when he said that ! The standard in many of the restaurants east of Malaga, where Nerja is ,is generally not good, the spanish cooking up in the mountains is even worse,( yes honestly.) My friend works in the donkey sanctuary and I had heard about that disaster ,what GR said is very true ,you cannot just trust to the holiday makers to make your money .
Well done Ice, it is cojones, too like conejo for me, I have made that mistake because someone was pulling my leg when ordering, never again!!
It would be interesting to see if "boy wonder " is still in business next year, so many change hands on an almost yearly basis ,he definately needs to get rid of that dipstick of a restaurant manager. Dog shit on the floor !!?? That really is sooo bad ! With some of the local restaurants I would have been less suprised if the dog had been in the pot, like the "baby horse," on one menu, one very well frequented by brits.
I bet most of the punters were under the impression that he was a trained chef.

Keep us informed Jack as you are nearby. It would be interesting to see if he does keep it going and if he gets rid of the guy who couldn't run a proverbial P up in a brewery. Sizz the, as I spelt it cahoonas, (sorry I know it isn't correct) are his crown jewels, otherwise known as Testicles.

Ice, can you elaborate on Bonapartes? Jack, can you translate, cojones? Conejo? Would hate to make some fauxpas in Spain! NickiJ, are you sure it would be a waste? By the way did anyone see the report that our GR is the highest paid chef? Jamie came second and poor Delia came well down the rankings along with Gary Rhodes

i'm not surprised he's the highest paid chef given that you have to A) sell a kidney or B) be paul mccartney in order to dine at his establishments Big Grin
and i'll still probably have to drink water.... Confused

Somehow managed to miss the Bonapartes ep Ice. Fill me in on some details, was it really bad? Mama Cherie's seems to ring a bell though. One I do remember is one on the coast where they had visitors from France on an exchange and GR carried a woman into the sea, they had loads of managers and nobody on the shop floor! And the one with the guy who was a raving alcoholic who couldn't get through service without a bottle of booze.

The radiotimes writeup says its the Spain one tonight.

The one last year where the chef was revealed to be an alcoholic was pretty sad. Gordon really had nowhere to go with him after that.
The chef stopped working, but I can't remember if his mum (who owned the place) shut up shop or got someone else in to run it?

LDK, it appears you missed the first 2 series, bonapartes was soooo bad.. the cook was like 21, and could not make a omelet.. moldy food all over the place.. just a disgusting place..

series 1 and 2 were the best by far.. glass house.. walnut tree.. la lanterna.. much better shows than the newer onesFrown

LDK if my memory serves me correctly, the one by the coast with GR running into the sea with a large French woman was the sandgate hotel and the one with the alcoholic chef was called oscar's. was bonaparte's the one with the 'chef' (and i use that term in the loosest sense) with the car number plate 'a1 chef'....? only a complete knob would have a personalised plate like that. rumour has it that gary rhodes bought it off him..... Big Grin
