Yea it's definately sad, Frown and I can see why everybody sympathizes, but at the end of the day that lamb was going to be killed anyway - just under much more calm and professional conditions.

It's not nice but there was only ever going to be one end for Charlotte.

Whilst walking in the Brecons I came across a field of dead sheep. Various remains, bones etc. The trees next to the field had all the bark scratched off. A sure sign of cats! Also we heard a growling from the woods nearby! As you can imagine, we moved on pretty quickly.

I was based at Stansted Airport in 1998. We were living on the outskirts of Bishops Stortford, about 3 miles from Beckingham Palace. I had a brace of Pheasants hanging in a leen-to at the rear of the house. We had a New Years party and the following day I noticed that the Pheasants had gone. The door to the lean-to had been left open by a party guest going smoking or whatever. I thought a domestic cat had taken them until I took a walk down to the bottom of the garden. The garden was very long and the grass at the bottom was long. There was a large area of flatened grass and in the middle was both sets of legs, one beak and some barley from one of the crops, nothing else, bones and feathers all gone!

I am a farmer's daughter and have seen on many occasions a dog kill lambs and clean the bones of flesh. I find this whole big cat thing silly and do not believe it. In that case a fox would have as much of a chance of doing the same thing!

I don't understand why Gordon keeps trying to farm these animals when he does not have the correct conditions, ie barns, grass etc. If you ask me I think he is too in-experienced to be doing this and should stick to cooking the meat! Or even let Hugh rear the animals for him, he at least knows what he is doing. Four sheep on 18 acres was just asking for trouble!

when i was a kid,i knew someone who had a pet panther,it used to sit in the boot of his car when he went out! then the law changed on keeping big cats, and hey presto the cat dissapeared.probably driven somewhere quiet and released,so it doesnt come much of a surprise to hear that charlotte was killed. How many more cats were released by unresponsible owners? Eek

My boyfriend lives at Bledlow Ridge (countryside area in Bucks) and whilst staying with him last year I actually saw what looked like a panther or some other big cat run away from us. We were in a car on the farmland at the time, I saw an animal bigger than a fox in appearance and black in colour skulk past through the bushes, naturally thinking I thought I was seeing things I got my boyfriend to go and see what it really was!! as he went round the shrubs the large animal leapt/glided over the fence in the distance and I saw it was black, had a long cat's tail and was very agile. We called it the beast of Bledlow Ridge after that!

There have been a number of big cat sightings in Nuneaton (Marston Lane). Myself and my partner saw this what can only be described as a puma leaping across the road at around 1.45 in the morning. It bounded across the road at cleared the road in one jump... it was quick, jet black and BIG! My dad before he died approached this animal when he saw it cowering in some field of Marston lane and my dad explained it had eyes about 12 inches apart from each other and was too large to be a fox or dog. My father was walking his dog and when the animal saw my dad approaching it calmly turned aroung and made its way into the darkness of the fields. If you seach on the internet for bag cats+nuneaton. you will see there have been many sightings. These things are real... i'm 26 my partner is 23 we know what we saw our eye sight is perfect and they are large!

Does anybody think that it could have been another type of animal, such as, foxes? If it is supposed to be a big cat that has (presumably)escaped from a zoo wouldn't that have been reported? I would,nt have thought that big cats are roaming the countrtyside with only a few sightings, unless most poeple who site them do not say anything about it!!

Are you sure its not a badger? We lose 10's of lambs every year on our farm to badgers. They have much more powerful jaws than either a dog or a fox. And in my experience they can clean a carcass overnight - just leaving the spine and skull.

With regards to last Episode, I would like to add that I have seen one of these cats about 4 years ago in a Field near Farming land.
This was between Bracknell and Wokingham Subsequently around a week or so later there were a few sightings in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.
It was NOT a dog as I have had many Dogs including Rotties it was definitely a large cat was jet black & the Tail sort of gave it away!
Even now every field I pass I always look & No I am not a fruit cake B4 you start.

Watch video Number 2 below the picture of the Cat…

how could you keep it as a pet , wouldnt it bite you , or did people just have cubs and then release them before it was exactly a huge danger

Big cat stories were rife in the mid 2 late 80s. 1 such story was the beast of bodmin down in Devon. I was a serving Royal Marine Commando down there at that time. My troop was sent on a 7 day exersise to track, spot & 2 photograph this creature. Needless 2 say we never saw anything. I'm not saying it didn't exsist, just that we as Marines had been taught our skills. The beast believed 2 b a black panther had all thoughs skills & more with the added advantage of not being taught thoughs skills but having them as instinct

The videos (of the bbc web link) clearly show a big cat.

But where do they hide out? and are they bigger than the cats people used to keep in the 60's?

Did anyone else notice the safari-esq fence that surrounded the field?...even a big cat would have done well to get over tht! however the Beckams rotweiler didnt have to climb over anything to get in the field.....?

There was not any fence or Safari park near where i was driving sunshine. just a medium Size Black Jaguar or Lepoard in the field.

One thing i do know is that they have not killed anyone and should be left alone.

A Rottie would not strip a sheep down to the bone. Go on google and type in UK Big cat videos.
