Just done some digging around to see whether Sebastian reverted to his old menu as soon as GR left. No surprise, he did but it appears that the place closed in January.

I found that Sebastian was replying to emails and board posts. Here's one such quote that appears in an LA TV review
quote:
"MY PIZZA WAS GREAT BEFORE RAMSEY CAME, SO WE RETURNED TO USING THE FROZEN DOUGH WHICH TASTES MUCH BETTER THAN THE FRESH CRAP HE HAD US MAKING.

I watched this ep with interest. What a foolish man he is. He obviously is not interested in what the customer wants, he is only interested in being a player/actor and lead in his own production, his stage is his restaurant and the customers his extras, I for one would not want to pay to be an extra in this man's little play. What a shame that his production, if he carries on in the same vein, won't even make the shelves, it will hit the cutting room floor before even getting that far. His business has so much potential but only with another director and producer. It is a shame that he has thrown away the advice given by his "angel" He deserves to win the Oscar for "Worst performance as a successful restauranteur"

Why does Gordon waste his time in the first place with people like Sebastian who think FRESH is crap and FROZEN is great????!!

It's the fact he admits that he can't cook fresh pizza dough that's as good as frozen. Says a lot about his skills as a chef

To be honest, I think this episode shouts out loud that the directors were after straight in your face entertainment, rather than finding a place that wanted to be helped/saved.

US forums have shown emails and comments created by Sebastian and they all show that he did not care and only did the show for the money. The fact he sold up and moved back to Boston was 'aparently' due to familly reasons (I'm looking for some salt to take a pinch of).

At least with the UK series you knew it was a straight case of trying to rescue a restaurant (and not always succeeding), where as this US series seems to be more about entertaiing antics of delusional/mad owners.

The problem with Sebastian - himself. Now he's in the knackers yard of dead resturants. I loved it when Gordon told him GOOD LUCK! -

Gordons face when Sebastian started reselling his own garbage menu looked like the aliens had landed. In this case no aliens but sebastians food!

I like the programme - It kicks butt.
gordon the man to do it. There are too many lazy half baked chefs around serving pig pen fodder to the mass public and here in England and now what appears to be the States. we put up with it. I love cooking and i want nothing more than my guest's to eat everything on the plate i quiz them if there is so much of a scrap left over. But i know that i couldn't hack it in a top professional kitchen. When asked if i would like to take up my hobby as a profession i say no because i would end up hating it and it would come across in the food. You can bet your bottom dollar that is what happens to most chefs.
