You probably have one by now, but if anyone else is interested (in that price range), KitchenAid. Can't go wrong with them.

We bought a new one at Christmas and were advised by a friend who works in a catering college that Magimix are still the best - industrial induction motors (no belts or gears to turn the cutting blade) guaranteed for 12 years. They do about 5 models, ours is the third or fourth most expensive and was about £230. An alternative is to pay less and buy accessories as and when you need them, but cheaper ones have lower powered motors. £300 will buy you the best model which comes with most accessories.

We bought a MagiMix mini. It is fantastic and worth every penny. The industrial motor means it is very quiet running, and very powerful.

hi i bought a food processor and blender for just 20.00 quid and it's reliable just thought i'd say that cheap can be reliable too, as i didn't have 300.00 to spend on one being a single mum and not working.
