Some General Do's and Do not's...

DO

Do read the topic list before you post and use a topic that already exists if there is one relevant, rather than starting a new one. This will increase the visibility of your post, as people do tend to keep an eye on active topics more than the multitude of newly created topics.

Do be very careful what links you use, respected news sources that contain a relevant news story you wish to talk about are OK. If you are unsure, then don’t use a link. Channel 4 is not responsible for the content of third party sites.

Do use the ‘alert’ button that is present on every post if you think a moderator needs to check the post for any reason. You may think it is offensive, inappropriate or really really funny and want us to have a laugh. (Use the alert button if you think someone is misusing the forum, if you attack back your own account could be bopped by the banstick).

Do try to have fun with the forums. If you find yourself getting wound up or stressed take a break for a bit… coming back refreshed and eager to throw your wit at us once more.

Do be patient with other users. Even if someone posts in a way that annoys you (in “txt spk” for example), stay polite and light-hearted in any response. (In 10 years they might be your doctor, or member of parliament.)

Do contact chat@channel4.com if you have any questions or problems that are forum related. Replies can be slow especially when things are busy.

DO NOT

Do Not Feed The Trolls. Some people use forums purely to annoy others for their own amusement. Reaction is what they seek and will feed them so that they stick around longer. Use the alert button and move on to some more interesting topic.

Do Not swear or post in a manner likely to offend users, disrupt the forum or just, in general, be mean.

Do Not add anything to your sig. (signature) that others users may get annoyed by, such as very long sigs or excessive emoticons, and Do Not put any links in signatures.

Do Not post spoilers without giving some sort of warning. Most visiting the forum will not know what is happening next, if you do please clearly mark any spoilers you might post to avoid annoying other forum users.

Do Not copy and paste large chunks from other sites, or include copyrighted material in your post.

Do Not link directly to any kind of media file.

Do Not give out any personal information about yourself especially contact information. You may think you know the people you are chatting to on the forum, but you don’t know the many thousands of casual guests who wander the forums and can read what you post (and you don’t really know the people you are chatting to).

Do Not post defamatory, harassing or unlawful comments relating to individuals, organisations or any group of people.

Do Not try to use the forum to promote your website, business, dodgy money making scheme, hamster breeding farm or your lonely single self.

Do Not repeatedly re-post deleted topics, as this leaves us with just one option (banstick!).

hello kathy...do you like the f word?

I don't like it very much, but if I met Gordon Ramsay I would use it (I prefer the W word)

I haven't seen it yet, is it any good. I see adverts for it all the time. I have been watching the hell's kitchen usa one though - I don't think I'd be able to be in the same room as him!

I'm 47 years old, a woman and do cook. I cook a meal every evening from fresh ingredients or use cooked meat for instance to create something tasty. I work full time, always have done so I'm straight in the kitchen from work.

I love cooking and nothing gives me more pleasure than creating a wonderful meal for friends and family.

Yay you, sally - I too am nearly 50 (and damn proud of it, let me tell you!) and I too love to cook - I'm not trying to alienate younger women in any way, but I think it is our generation that was the last to remember well-cooked school meals, and cookery lessons.... it was an integral part of life, to know how to cook! With the advent of the career woman (nothing wong with that!) and moving farther away from home, families became disjointed,a nd priorities changed. I know there are thousands of younger women athan I who can cook - but there seem to be many more who are nervous about it. these cookery programmes are there on a supply & demand basis - if they weren't watched, they wouldn't be aired.... And unfortunately, I've met a fair share of younger ladies who, when I've spoken about the nitty-gritty of cooking, have turned their noses up and gone into a near faint at the mere mention of gutting and scaling a fish.....Spare me!!

I think we can safely say present company excepted - or you wouldn't be here, would you?!?

Question - who checks the F-Word Quiz questions? Because I reckon that there is a mistake there - I had a question stating what is the only meat a pesco-vegetarian will not eat and then it gave red meat and white meat as an option - clearly they won't eat any meat regardless of the colour. hmmm.

Hi there, I've just joined this c4 forum. I'm from South Africa and I can't seem to get enough of Kitchen Nightmares and the F-word.

Am I glad to have found this forum
I've been searching for a while and found this forum to be spot on....to share my obsession with these shows and the great admiration that I have for the man, yes, the one and only Mr Gordon Ramsey

Gordon is definitely not the kind of guy I would want to work for...I'd end up in tears. Nevertheless, I think he is absolutely, positively one of the hottest and sexiest guys. Maybe its the accent, or that he can't contain his exitement, or that he is so pationate and committed to each project, or when he gets really exited and says "yeah, yeah", or just that he has a REALLY SEXY BODY.

I am glad to have found you guys, now I don't have to keep it all to myself
