Am I the only one to find the manic camera wiggling and extreme close-ups intensely annoying?
I like Gordon, but the epileptic camera antics destroy what should be an excellent show.
I like food, I like cooking and I would like to be able to see a chef at work, but for some reason the camera I am trying to look through keeps staggering drunkenly around the room or getting so close it must end up covered.
Please find a producer!

Exactly my thought!

This is the sole reason for me joining this forum!

40 seconds into the programme I thought "oh dear, get the poor workplacement guy off the camera"
I then continued watching for another two minutes but had to switch channels due to the sheer frustration of a completely manic camera action.

I understand that they need to create a feel of fast resturant kitchen pace but really, the person that signed off on the "great" idea to use fast changes of cameras, amateurish zooming and lots of hand held shaky cameras really need to be sent back to school.

Not to mention that it is not very good for epileptics or people that might suffer migraines. (none of these applies to me but I still did not manage to watch it)

I really hope someone involved in the programme could voice these concerns so that we might actually be able to enjoy the show!

Have to totally agree with the above. I think the producers concept was to make the programme sharp, fast and edgy - and this was their way of portraying that mood. Unfortunately all it did was to irritate the hell out of me and make me feel dizzy.

In the early/mid 1990's, cameramen and producers suffered from two illnesses that they contracted from camermen & produceres who worked on American TV drama series. These illnesses were called 'Zoomitus' and 'Wobbly Camera Syndrome'. Thankfully these illneses died out in the late 90's, but it seems from last night's programme, the illness took a grip on Gordons producer and camera crew.

Seriously C4. That irritating style of camera work went out of fashion years ago. If you are going to do another cookalong (which I hope you will), don't employ the same producer who insists on using that out-of-date and uncomfortable-for-the viewer style of camera work.

Oh yes, Gordon's wife looked hot as usual (when she wasn't wobbling on my screen)

Tilly, what a shame you only gave it 5 mins. If you had perservered and perhaps if you had been taking part then you would possibly have enjoyed the thing so much more. I did take part and I have since watched the programme for pleasure and I could not see what the problem was. So the camera men got it wrong, the chef did not and the whole thing was about the cooking not the camera action or the technical abilities of the director. Everyone I have spoken with who took part claim absolute success with the menu and everyone without exception said that although it was fast and furious it was an absolute hoot, most fun had in the kitchen in years is one such comment. Take another view, stand outside the "watching" stance, it really is hard watching others really enjoy themselves whilst you stand on the outside looking in, most of the negative comments I have seen are from people who didn't actually take part and that has to tell you something. Go on Tilly, you know you like Gordon, have a go at the menu and next time you have the opportunity, take part, you never know if you give it more than 5 mins you might actually enjoy it. Wink

Glad I am not alone, and Lemon drop, agree the content of the program was ok, but the wobble-cam on this (and the F Word) distracts from the actual cooking they are showing. I would love to see a message from the production Team to either shoot me down or just acknowledge the comment. Lets wait, nothing yet, I'll keep waiting. Tum te tum etc.

At least the use of Grad Filters is being kept to a minimum this time around.
