Why does Gordon say "Yes" as a question about 50 times each show ?

I always thought the 'bouncing' which I must admit irritates me, came from his footballing days, have you ever noticed when footballers go into a huddle, they tend to 'bounce' as they talk?

The man just has too much pent up nervous energy - I could help him work that off!!
