I always thought Gordon Ramsay to be a bully and never liked to what him on TV due to the swearing involved, however i somehow ended up watching the current serious "Gordon Ramsays' Kitchen Nightmare" and changed my view on Gordon. Gordon is a passionate, "die hard", professional chef with the ability to see where others have not. So, i ask myself: if they dont want his advice then dont ask him. He has turned around so many business in the programmes, giving help to those who lose the way, so why do they argue with him on a continual basis. His swearing is a result of frustration. This is how Gordon expresses himself.
I suspect the producers/editors are to blame. He and his team are there for a week working 16 hour days, most of which is filmed. I guess that the programme makers cherry pick the arguments to build up the story line, after all this is primarily entertainment.
From the owners point of view it must be hard to be told you've got it all wrong , especially when you've invested so much time, effort and money into it. perhaps they can't let go easily
I was chatting with a fellow I know who owns a restaurant and he said they got a letter in from Gordon Ramsay and Channel 4, looking for restaurants to film for the series.
I hate to say it, but his place would make a great episode...
I love the way the owners of these places get indignant when Gordon tells them that their place is crap and they are doing it all wrong. But surely, Gordon knows what he's talking about!!! He's made millions from restaraunts!! why can't the owners of these failing places see that??? It's interesting to note however that Gordon never throws that in their faces though.
the one that annoyed me most was the french bistro woman. he turned it around and she just upped and left it- didn't want to do the work. i used to not be keen but now i see it's his passion. i have seen him on hells kitchen too and he pushes them to get them to try to reach the point he knows they can.
My Mammoth shall be named Balthazar! Bonjella...mmmmmmmm Roger to win BB9
The paris woman pissed me off more than any other nightmare, she had a perfect setup... a chef that was willing to move her entire life to work there (and i thought she was cute).. And she was too worried bout swearing smoking and taking care of cats...
As someone that works non stop to make ends meet and would grasp a opportunity like that and hold on as hard as i could, i HATE that woman... just a lazy person unwilling to put in some work..
BTW, i think alot of gordon's yelling is just made up for the TV... like the granary, he seemed to just be trying to start a fight there, calling the guy fat and such.. and to be honest, he uses the same pattern every show of insults even coming down to "this is the biggest shithole in (insert town here)"
Icetech... stuck in detroit.. we have no produce, only crime
Yep, the French vegetarian restaurant woman really annoyed me, living off daddys money with out a care, but for her stupid cats. Her so called friend, who was just as lazy was no better. Poor little rich girls..!!
I thought Gordon also was a loud mouthed "celebrity chef" who did little more than bully his staff, and deserved a punch in the face. It was the Nightmares series that turned my opinion and I cant get enough of the guy, and his no nonsense business sense.
Will Channel 4 commission a series where a top business executive turns around a failing small business.. That would be worth watching..
