Third and final try to post this. Hope you are all ready for the live cook in on the 18th. Have you visited the F Word site and looked up all the ingredients, equipment and viewed the videos? I am quite excited about this though the ingredients are quite expensive so I may limit it to cooking for just me and hubby with Gordon for company. If this really takes of I think that I better get down to the shops before all the ingredients are sold out!

Yeah I think the ingredients are pretty expensive, and the main is a bit boring. And if this is part of the Big Food Fight, surely he should be cooking free-range chicken?? Wouldn't that make sense? I'm also having trouble loading the training videos. Not impressed with it at the minute!
I think this live cook in is a great idea. For quite a while now i've been recording cookery progs on sky+ then playing them back to myself when i want to cook them, pausing them at each stage so I can keep up. Partly cos I'm slow in the kitchen & partly because I don't have a TV in the kitchen, so have to run into the living room for each part! LOL!
I won't be doing the live cook (but I'll be watching), one thing I am wondering is how is everyone gonna keep up with the chopping & prepping skills of a top chef? They always make that part look quick & easy.
Hi there guys, Angela1981, shame you don't have a TV in the kitchen, will let you know how it goes, re; cheffing I have to agree, hope that Gordon doesn't do it too quickly and expect us novices to keep up. Hypereyes, main may seem a little boring but the menu has to be viewed as a whole and bear in mind most of the people will have little actual experience of cooking like this ( truth be known that this is a one off, first time in the UK experiment, so lets start off simple with good ingredients so we might not be too put off). The menu is, if you look at it, tasty and quite simple but yet does have the "je'ne sais quois" (sorry to those who can actually speak and write French") that a dinner menu requires. I am truly looking forward to doing this. I also agree that with respect to the whole food fight thing that perhaps chicken should have been on the menu but hey ho what ever. Be part of an historic experiment that may or may not be talked about in the future as the begining of a culinary revelution. You all know the sayings, "You have to be in it to win it" or "don't knock it until you try it" so come on everyone, have a go, give us your feedback, but don't all buy the ingredients before I do. want all the supermarkets to note that this is going to happen and that they need to grab the opportunity and stock up so we can all get involved. BTW I already have my desiree potatoes, my king scollops are almost sourced and as for sirloin, well I am looking around.

OMG, I have just re-read my post, Smirnoff has a lot to answer for. Digital dyslexia and mental impairment means that not only can I not type English but the French is pretty dodgy!! Anyway, it has taken me several hours to type this, not really but it has taken several re-readings. My hubby is distracting me also having imbibed and the dog is hounding me for her food so I had better leave now whilst I am still conscious. Good luck to all of you who are going to attempt the challenge. Look forward to seeing your posts.
