Gordon Ransey should be disgusted in himself for promoting this food. How can anyone think it is fine to treat an animal like this. If no one ate it, then this may stop.

at the end of the day humans are superior to animals, therefore in my opinion no problem! plus u cant expect the man to put 'fake' fois gras on his restaurants menus!

This topic has been debated in another section....yes we are the superior race but that does not give us the right to inflict unecessary pain and suffering to animals for the sake of our palates.

mark b we may be the superior race but that does not give us the right to treat animals this way. When there are less stressful ways to go about things.

Hitler's idea of a superior race was that of people with blonde hair and blue eyes... does this mean you also agree with the way he treated people???

To be superior you need to have honour, compassion and other qualities.....

Which ones do you have?? All living things have the right to be treated fairly...and that goes for you aswell!!!

why doesn't Ramsay lead the way and use the 'natural' Fois Gras that Janet Street Porter investigated. At least that way people can still eat it if they wish, and it means that the animal doesn't suffer. It's a win-win situation!

Now come on everyone, get a grip. I am sure we have all eaten a chicken burger or kebab after a few drinks late at night and now we are all throwing our toys out of the pram in respect to Foie Gras.
This has been made in the same way for hundreds of years, and its the only way to get the buttery, delicate texture and flavour (as proved on the programme), so stop getting so righteous. Foie Gras is a unique product using traditional methods. If you don't believe in the ways its produced then don't eat it! I am sick of the morale stance that seems to exist with food in the country.
We should be more ashamed that a third of our children do not know where sausages come from!!
