Now, I have gathered that every member on this forum is obsessed with one of the cast members. So I set myself the challenge of finding out as much as I can about everyones favourites, then I can put it all down here and then everyone is happy So far, Ive gathered that peoples favourites are as follows: Lip, Carl, Jamie, Karen and Debbie. This thread is dedicated to those who want to know more about Jody Latham, aka Lip Gallagher. You will find threads for the other characters on the forum also. Thanks xx
Lip - Jody Latham
Jody was born in Burnley, Lancashire, in the first month of 1982. He has a four year old son, Jack. The house he grew up in was built by his dad, and Jody helped him, reluctantly. He was a teenager, and so he thought he should've been hanging around the town looking hard. He had dogs, and a huge garden. He says neighbours never had to knock on the door, it was always open. It was very busy and noisy. Jody has confessed that he and his character Lip share many similarities, mainly because Paul Abbott based the show on growing up not far from where Jody grew up himself. Like Lip, Jody wanted to be an architect, until the age of 12 or 13, however, acting began to appeal to him as a way to get away from the troubles of school, Nelson, and out into the real world, stating, "I've had no professional training apart from youth theatre. I felt I wanted more out of life. I want to get out of here and get a taste of the real world. Jody Latham’s popularity has risen to an incredible height, and he has also become somewhat of a ‘gay-icon’ which he finds quite flattering. In February this year, readers of New Woman magazine voted Jody the 84th sexiest man in the world, ahead of a countless other men, including Shameless co-star James McAvoy. Earlier this year, he cemented his sex-icon status by appearing in a Cosmo centrefold special. In relation to his mega stardom, Jody says, "it can be quite daunting but it's all part of the job - and I'm quite a pleasant person, I'm a chit-chatty sort of guy anyway, so I just go along with it." Jody’s most recent TV appearance has been in BBC drama, The Street, where he plays Billy. Jody describes his character as "an up and coming professional footballer…" who "gets sidetracked by friends who encourage him on the wrong route". Jody has loved working with such highly-esteemed writers and directors, but mentions that he would like to move up and on from his Shameless days. "As an actor you want to be as versatile as possible and I want to try different things… I want to do something more challenging now, to be someone different." Jody has recently completed filming ‘Ruby Red Chequer’ (AKA ‘Ruby Blue’). Jody is aiming high, looking toward Hollywood as an attainable goal and has auditioned for several big budget American films, receiving some great feedback.
If Jody was born in 1982 then that would make him about 24/25. On his myspace page it says hes 21. I dont think thats him on myspace. The actress who plays Mandy has already left a comment on his myspace saying that hes not the real Jody.
I just thought I would let you all know about this as this is a thread about Jody Latham

really? well i guess its easy to make him up isnt it and i did wonder why there wasnt any pictures of him and his gf together! and what about teh pics of jack. thats pathetic someone posing as him if they are, they could just make a fan space if they like him but why pose as him obvi get no attention else where.
the thing that made me think it was him was the pictures on there.
He has got 2 pictures of his son on there, which I dont think can be found on the internet. also there are pictures of him with some fans. It could be somebody who knows jody though.

I'm the creator of the fan-site, www.jodylatham.co.nr, and you completely ripped that off my site's biography, that I happened to write. It took a lot of effort sourcing all the information, and in future I'd appreciate a link or at least a mention. It's plagiarism otherwise.
