Well, I watched a few episodes of series one yesterday, and I started wondering if I can see the ‘chatsworth estate’ from my high-rise in Moss Side. And I realised I didn’t quite know where I was looking. So I thought I’d go over there, have a look. The woman at tourist info in manchester used to live on the estate, so she gave me really good directions…
So I went to ‘the jockey’ (in reality, the welly) and had a beer. I thought it would be pretty rough, but there was only a few people in. I got chatting to a nice old guy, gave him a bit of baccy. He said it was usually busy, but the gas had gone off, so it was too cold in there for most- they were doin their best with a few electric heaters.
So it was nice meetin him. I would have liked to ‘ave sat on Frank's stool, but it was occupied. I might go back, if I am nearby, it’s a nice place to ‘ave a pint… friendly, like. Or it was with just the six people in, anyway!
So then I went and got some more baccy from ‘Kash’s shop’, an then back to Moss Side in time fer tea! And yeah, I can see it from my high-rise… the flats, anyway.
Above the bar in the Welly, they’ve got this article, which is pretty cool…
