It's in Series 3 Episode 1 - Scene 6 "My Fault" - Franks bit starts at 38m 45s just after Ian goes to the shop.
Thanks! THat's one of my favourite scenes. I remember he changes the lyrics as well, and I want to see how it was revised, as I'm thinking of ddoing it myself at a show next month!
My other visually favourite scenes, are when Ian finally finds his biological father, and when 'Lip first sees his baby and has that goofy smile on his face while being continously pummeled in the face by the Maguires and that cuckolded boyfriend of the woman in the hospital!
