I have juist ordered my shameless series 2 dvd from Tesco Jersey, and wondered if any one has already got it, and what they think of it, example : quality and so on
I loved the commentary, shame it's just one one episode.
I finally got the DVD at the beginning of December and I've been revelling in it for the past two weeks. I'm all shamless hyped up again after watching the series again and again and again..
""And they swam and they swam right into my dam..." - Sue, Green Wing, series 2 - episode 1.

I wouldn't have thought that the quality of the DVD would be any different to that of ones brought in Tescos. It's basically a tax dodge which is why they are cheaper. If they sell from Jersey they don't have to pay VAT on them. Which means they can pass on the 17.5% saved. Play does the same thing. Although i am sure that a couple of the ones i've got through Play are copies, but the quality is still top notch and it all works so i won't complain.
I got the one with the Xmas special on, and there are no extras at all on it, there were not many on the first series either, Channel 4 dvd's never have good extras.

I almost missed switching this commentary on but yes I agree. I thought it was great to hear what the production team think and also to understand the thinking behind some of the scenes. Wouldn't it be nice in the Series 3 DVD to have added similar commentaries and also fun to have some of the clips which didn't make it into the episodes - perhaps some of those which went wrong or were cut in order to keep to TV time limits. I have only just finished watching the episodes on this DVD and I must add that I had forgotten that I had not seen all of the Series 2 final episode. What powerful drama! And great acting by Fiona, Carl and Debbie! But I thought the ending with the singing of Jerusalem was a complete let-down. Compared with what went on before it was a total anti-climax - or have I missed some hidden meaning?
