After being very dissapointed in Series 3, I thought that with the exits of Kev, Veronica and soon to be Sheila, that I would hate it, however it is back to it's best. With that said, the Monica storyline is ridiculous, I mean she leaves her kids for a waoman and then years later returns for FRANK?? I think not! And all the kids forgive her and get on with it apart from Debbie. I hope Monica and Frank don't gte back together.

So far so good. I think i'm use to the look and age of everyone now. Kev and Vee going i thought was pretty good. we know how they can be. And i was racking my brains from where the new copper came from and last night i thought of Angela Ashes. I'm glad someone confirmed it.
Also Annabelle Apsion (monica) was in Soilder Soldier Solider. But all i can say is PHAWWWWW she turns me right on Annabelle Apsion does.

The court scenes were filmed on the steps of Bolton Town Hall. the actress who plays Monica was in Coronation Street for one episode... she played Richard Hillmans wife who he killed with a spade and she ended up in some foundations at a renovation. hth,

you people are strange.
it started poorly, got a little better but was just a pale pastiche of its earlier glories. Storylines a moron would have thrown out for being too absurd, obvious scripting, poor acting, yet more delightful irish stereotypes. The only really good bits were kev n veronica going into court & marty getting nicked. the scenes in the copshop were appaling - that boycopper can't act, and whoever thought of that ending to the storyline should be shot. several times. The idea of a 16 episode series fills me with horror.
Shameful.

quote: Channel 4 drama Shameless returned for its fourth series with an impressive 3.5 million viewers and a 18.5% share.
The show reached its highest audience and peaked at 3.8 million and a 22.4% share at 10.30pm, exceeding the channel's slot average for 2006 of 2.2 million.
The last series managed an average of 3 million and a 16.1% share over eight episodes last January.
Five's second 60-minute episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in the same slot pulled in 1.9 million, with BBC Two's Children of Helen House managing 1.4 million over 30 minutes. BBC's news bulletin won in the slot with 4.7 million.
This really is a great ratings result for Shameless, i love how it completely wiped the floor with CSI. Shuve your imported american tripe up yer arse channel 5!

Just shove anything American (Except House and repeats of M*A*S*H) up your arse. I pretty much had american shows.
The start of a new series will always be tough as people will want to leave and you will have to somehow script them out. Which can sort of screw up plans. It's like we would be a bit miffed if Lip wanted to leave that would cause some big voids

Details of actors, films/tv appearances etc. can be found in http://www.imdb.com - very very useful when you remember something, but want to know more etc. Sadly my PVR didn't record the first episode of Series 4, so I've missed it - anyone know if C4 are going to repeat it, or if its available for download anywhere? Thanks
Shame they don't make this available to "download" in the same way they have "desperate housewives" - what a let down!

I missed the first 25 minutes of episode 1, so I missed Kev and Veronica and the Maguires moving in. Episode 2 was a bit bad I think - waaaaay too much Frank, Sheila and Monica - Lip had NO dialogue, and Ian's becoming a background character like Carl! Can't wait for episode 3 - I think it'll be better when Sheila's out of the way and it looks like she might go in this episode!

Also, Annabelle Apison was the psycho cleaner Margaret Barnes in The Bill for ages - the one who stalked Ramani De Costa!

Loving it. ROLL ON SERIES 5
