i just went on www.imdb.com the internet movie database where you can see wat films programmes actors have been in and i typed in shameless and it said the dates that the previous series/episodes have been on and it says for series 4 ep 1 it says october 2006
i read the mirror paper yesterday and channel4 have made a new programme called goldplated about a dysfunctional family and its supposed to be better than shameless so i think its meant to be that as it starts in october so it must be a mistake oh well roll on january

I'm willing to bet it won't be a patch on Shameless. It's quite disappointing that Channel 4 have commishioned this when it's clearly a carbon copy of Shameless only difference being the family are well off. They're obviously hoping that it'll appeal to the same audience that watch Shameless, but i can't see it really.
I doubt it'll even come close to it in terms of quality or viewing figures. Shameless was getting around 3M on C4 in it's most recent series, which is as impressive as around 6M on ITV1 or BBC1 seeing as they both benefit from being more mainstream channels which automatically gains them a ratings boost on any programme they show, regardless of it's quality. We'll see if it gets anywhere near as many awards / nominations as Shameless did in it's first series anyway.
