Sorry kingkyle,

But I get rather fed up of these student type questions.

Do you actually watch Shameless? Because I think if you did then you would not need to ask an internet forum for your answers. If you had the brains you should be able to answer this yourself.

I'm sorry guys, rant over. Nod

Why the antipathy?

If you don't want to help him, don't. But why go to the effort of writing a message to tell him you're not going to?

The title of the module is critical research. That means that he has to ask other people, it doesn't make him lazy, or stupid.

The questions on the other hand...

Positive - Ian and Mickey are both portrayed as real people, with real feelings, and we can empathise with them as much as any straight characters.

Do you know of any characters that are represented conforming to the gay stereotype?

Yes - Only for comedic effect eg; Mickey getting a pink limo.

Do you know of any characters that are represented not conforming to the gay stereotype?

Yes –
Neither Ian or Mickey act in a particularly stereotypical manner. Mickey is violent chavish thug and Ian is brash, Northern and quite insensitive.
Do you feel that there should be more positive representation of gay characters in television dramas?

Yes .

I disagree, I think it's going from strength to strength. You have highlighted an episode that IMO was poorly written and I didn't enjoy it either but this weeks episode more than makes up for it. It's a million times better. I guess it comes down to who this weeks writer is.

Check out series 1 & 2 when Ian was still struggling to come out the closet, Mickey hadn't even been invented! Very well handled.
All Shameless needs now is a lipstick lesbian - ofcourse they've got one she's about to have a baby Big Grin
