its funny how stright people on the show are shown having sex, but when ian and micky wear avin it off there weren't anything.
if only ian forgave micky for the wierd dog inccident, then they would be a good couple.
micky is a bit alright, and i wouldn't aved quessed that he was gay, as you would thinkj someone from that life style was gay. its great to watch.

Yeh i'd have liked to have seen them together aswell. Mickey is a good character, i hope they don't just ignore him from now on cause they could do alot more with him.

Also agree with you over the gay sex scene, they done the same thing last year and just showed abit of messing around then Ian's face just before they got going rather than an actual full on scene like we regulary get with the others.

I think theres got to be more to this censorship issue, because i can't imagine the writers of Shameless being scared to write more intense scenes. Mabey Gerard Kearns is refusing to play stronger scenes or something. As much as i loved the episode i found the censorship of that particular scene severly disappointing, it could probably have gone out on a pre watershed soap it was that weak.

People have been saying this since the start and i think Channel 4 are finally starting to listen because Series Five is apparently going to be sixteen episodes long.

Paul Abbott has always wanted to do longer series of Shameless, but its fitting the filming time into the actors schedules that is the main problem. Now they're building a massive outdoor set that will solve this problem and make filming future series easier.

You know i really hadn't noticed just how censored Shameless has been with gay sex scenes until i read this thread and actually thought about it. They haven't actually shown one full on gay sex scene in the entire four series of the show, which i find appauling (and i'm not gay).

The closest to one i can remember was in series one, with Ian & Kash behind the counter but again all you saw was their hands shaking.

Agree fully, good episode but Hollyoaks could probably have gotten away with that scene at 6.30pm. Give old Russell T Davis an episode to write, i'm sure he'd sort it out

I think personally I would have liked to have seen them become a couple purely because the thought of Ian dating a Maguire is hilarious. And of course it would only add to the gallaghers and Maguires becoming even more of a tight knit family lol.

It's not really that big a deal, merely an observation i only came to myself after reading this thread. It just disappoints me how they seem to have shied away from it. It's just not Paul Abbott's style to shy away from scenes he knows will offend narrow minded people so i really do wonder why we've never had a full on gay sex scene yet. I'm not expecting an all out regular Queer as Folk style bonanza of over the top gay sex scenes, but after four years you would think they would have actually shown one rather than just implied they where occuring through facial expressions before cutting away.

Mabey they will in the next few episodes, but regardless it doesn't overly bother me because as much as i do like the sex scenes they are not that important to my enjoyment of the show as a whole. I mean i never really noticed we hadn't had one until now. Mabey they hadn't either?
