To me Frank is the main person is Shameless yet he was hardly in it for the 4th series.

in my opinion frank was there at the begining and will be there at the end

frank, aka david threlfall, will not leave. His character is central to the plot, as he does te opening scene, even the newly reone one. And Threlfall is so vital to it that im quite sure he will be getting paid loads for it, and his performances are exceptional on shameless. This past series he has been directing some episodes, so i think that, and also the fact that he wants the younger actors to have more air time and storylines, is why he hasnt appeared much this series compared to series 2? BUT he was heavily involve in the first three episodes.

he has been in it for 4 series now, and if they make say two more, he hopefully knows that he might as well stay in it, because his and the shows legacy will be exceptional.

i think frank does more work behind the scenes

frank will never leave..i feel they just wanted to get some of the others more involved as many people have left..frank will be their until the end..

If he does then to me that is when shameless should end.

I dont think he'll leave. I can see him stepping back and letting the majority of the major storyline be held by the younger actors, I think he'll be doing more Directing, as I think thats what He'll do after Shameless.

Can't see it, David Threlfall is so passionate and positive about Shameless. I remember reading just recently him saying he wanted to see it continue for 'many years'.

Being one of the senior cast members, he has taken more of an executive role; he helps other cast members with acting, and during this series has directed some of the episodes. For him I suppose this is the start of something much more than it seems. Im guessing he would like to do more Directing when he finishes acting. But for now I think its safe to say he will not be leaving, but taking a lesser role in every single episode so he can further his carer and help all the younger ones. Its quite sweet actually

Yeah, i get what you mean with him taking a lesser role. I just think the poster claiming he was hardly in the series at all is abit ridiculous.

i rekon he was in it a lot just not as much as 1,2 and 3....

frank wasnt in series 4 that much coz he has turned 2 the directing side of shameless x
