NO ! only 16 episodes a year, but like corrie, it will have apermanenet set, instead of what they do now by filming the outside seens in Gorton and the inside scenes in a warehouse. It will just be extended shameless, not a soap like corrie!

The media have drawn comparison to the soaps mainly because of the new permanent set, which is an extremely rare thing for a British drama series to have. It's mostly just Soaps in Britain that have permanent sets.
Well explained Ryan. Yeah its a drama with a permanent set. So I guess you could visit it. But its not like a soap in that it isnt continuous in time. There are gaps between scenes, episodes and series...

in 8 episodes of shameless a whole year could go by. Even months could have gone by between each episode. we have to assume this, because otherwise jamie and karen would have got engaged after 3 weeks lol, which is possible but soo daft. And Debbie's boyfriend Luke was gone after the one episode.

We havent seen Luke, but she could still be going out with him. Dont forget they were keeping it a secret when they went off to "Walton-on-the-Naze!" for geography field trip and Gospel Camp!
