i really dont like the macquire family in this series and their increased role..they spoil the light heartedness of the show with their potential for violence and negativity...what i liked about the series before this was the positivity...i think the actress who plays ma mac quire adds a real downer to the series..bring back fiona please...i also think that the dad macquire reminds me too much of Fred West yucky
However, surely the amount of comedy which can be extrated from these characters is endless. It doesn't have to be forever, and having an 'evil' series is perhaps a change and one-off until the maguires settle down.
They have shown signs of settling down, in the respect that Jamie maguire exits prison and pledges to be 'straight' and stop the mudering antics, so with the loss of 'fergal' they have drawn a line under murder, but just kept light hearted violence and petty/slightly serious crime.
i hope they do 'lighten' up, and will be waiting to see the two families and their adventures.
