J Anderson, I Bell, P Collingwood, J Dalrymple, A Flintoff, E Joyce, J Lewis, S Mahmood, P Nixon, M Panesar, K Pietersen, L Plunkett, C Read, A Strauss, C Tremlett, M Vaughan.
Mahmood should never play for England again because he is just simply awful,Plunkett is just as bad.
My team would be:
Strauss Vaughan Bell Pietersen Collingwood Flintoff Dalrymple Nixon Lewis Tremlett Anderson
I agree with that team except id have Read for Nixon. Down at 8, Read's poor batting isnt as big a hindrance. He can slog pretty well in the final overs.
It would also be good if we could squeeze Monty in there somewhere. Surely he has to be given a few games before the World Cup is upon us.
Mahmood and Plunkett as you say are useless and can't be relied on in the one day game.
Nixon over Read is quite an easy decision to make with Read's performances in the past few games. I don't think we've flown a 36 year old half way around the globe to carry the drinks. Hes playing!
Joyce the batsman to miss out although we should be careful with Vaughan.
Then the other selection debate is the spinner. Dalrymple has had a decent start to his ODI career and has more List A pedigree than Panesar so should start. I wouldn't rule out Monty playing as a second spinner at some point though.
