How would you have reacted if your team had lost yesterday's match?

I'd have driven my car over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, stopped halfway, then jumped off.

Losing a Twenty20 match would have signalled the end of life as we know it.

The government would have been defeated on the floor of the House for failing to prevent the loss and the military would have had to be called in to control the civil unrest.

Same as i did for the win, indifference.

bigger interest for me was watching the new bowlers.

Plus we just won the ashes 5-0 unless we lose the WC in march i can't see this good feeling going anytime soon.

I think I detect a hint of sarcasm there?

Except for the 'civil' bit.

Bleh... who cares what their response to a slogfest is?

We could win the next 10 ODI's on the trot... t'aint going to make up for the test series.

I'd have had a giggle and slept well knowing that the urn is back at its rightful home.

I wouldn't really have cared had we lost as it's really only hit and giggle. Having said that, I believe SA winning the 20/20 in Joburg when we went there gave them a momentum which they carried into the one day series which they subsequently one with the world record chase. England also believe that winning it in 2005 gave them some confidence.

Australia #1 in tests and one dayers and that's the natural order.

Smack on the money. However much it's stated that "whinge...the English don't like ODIs....whinge, sniff... it's because they're so bad at it....boo-hoo", the Aussies like it just about as much, which is - it's cricket so it's good, but stick it alongside Tests and it's pretty meaningless outside of the World Cup. So why should they have cared...

International cricket is international cricket. I want my team to win every game it plays, no matter how short or long the format. Heck I even want my team to win Santa ball and rugby, both of which I find the most incredibly boring sports. I can't even bring myself to sit through a game of rugby and I was still hurt when Wilkinson took the world cup away from us.

Wicked. 'esome.

You must have been distraught that Aus lost 'The Ashes' in the Indoor Bowls. Good old Brian Morley, he stuck it to you....

Oh i want us to win, don't get me wrong.

But the damage is already done for this tour...

As a side note... i wonder what the odds are on England losing the lot of these ODI's?

Our record is that bad and we are playing 2 of the better teams.... may have to have a dabble at betfair.

Because it was before the Ashes. There's no doubt a poor one day series in 2005 could have dented confidence....

Given their ODI form they performed miracles to stay with the Aussies.

In 2005 the ODI series was tied and then the second series was narrowly won by Aus. It was probably the last decent English ODI performance in memory. They were in form that year.

What really is telling is how comfortable Vaughn looked out there in the centre in the rubbish cricket match. He looked calm and in control even when his side was losing. His rubbish batting aside (seriously, and average under 40 in this day and age!), he's a terrific captain who would have held the Poms together much better this time around if he'd played.

Sooky laughable rubbish, not to be unexpected from angry-man Ngam.

BTW, last night's game was sh*t and giggle, not a ODI

Poor old Dwayne. You'll go to the ball one day, don't worry. I'm not speaking for all Aussies, but definitely am speaking for a decent proportion. The ones I am speaking for are 10 times the forummer you are wee-man. You've pretty much got nothing going for you, whereas they have plenty.

Was watching SSN when we got back yesterday (great to be back on this overcrowded island I must say, Frown ) and they were quoting that England were 12-1 to not win a single game all tour before yesterday's game.

Those odds have now been slashed to 7-1.

Still pretty good value I reckon.

Great value Bob! I'm there soon!

Hope you had a good trip regardless of the result.
