Why's that Hass? Jones is easily as good as Read stumping people off of Monty's bowling.
Both are jokes IMO, Read's spineless batting in the first innings proved many of our fans hypotheses here. That he'd dump his load and aid the precipitation of a collapse. Unfortunately, Jones was an utter disgrace beforehand and shouldn't be let near the England team ever again.
Read 38 Monty 43 Harmi 6 England lead 123 Australia bowled out by Monty (7 fer) and Saj (3 fer) for 112. England win by 11 runs. I collect £2K from Ladbrokes.

Wake me up when it's over someone!
You must be dreaming if you think either Bowden or Dar will give catches or LBWs off of Monty out. I make it two catches and an LB so far, that would've been 5...
Pietersen will go early early, chucking away his wicket with a big, sulky "I said I don't want to bat with the tail, goddamit" and the innings will fold meekly.
Or the tail will implode and Pietersen will be left high and dry on about 35.
But, if ever there was a chance for Chris Read to prove his credentials, a score tomorrow would do his case no harm at all.
England'll be lucky to stretch it to a three-figure lead.
Read is a number 8 Test batsman. A great wicket-keeper, and that's not hyperbole, but a mediocre batsman at best. Deal with it, and stop trying to find gold in mud.
You'll miss him when we find a mediocre keeper who's also an above average batsman.
Read's okay. He's a bloody fine keeper - by a distance - than Geraint Jonarse.
If you had been frozen out of the "hierarchy" and your competition had the guvnor's ear and was the captain's good buddy, how the hell would you have felt fetching drinks and towels, knowing that the prat with the gloves was utter crap - with his batting not that much better? Furthermore, this prat was also a "selection consultant" to boot.
This series is fraught with cock-ups - stemming mainly from management - sadly, a few players cop the flak as the cracks get papered over.
I find all this criticism towards Jones harsh , fair enough he was awful with the bat but his keeping has come on leaps and bounds in 2006. He was fautless behind the stumps this series and in 2005 people were calling for his head when he was dropping catches, they would have traded what he is now at the time.
The grass is always greener on the other side for Jones critics.
Neither of these guys are right or the Job anymore they jus need to keep the seat warm for short term Foster and hopefully long term Davies.
