I always make rational observations unlike some jingoistic gung-hos around here who can't take a bit of constructive criticism at all.

Recall that the last time the Wall opened at Durban he made 24 or 28 not out while the rest of the team collapsed all out for 100.

Looks like someone in the management is hell bent on finishing Pathan's career. Sacrificing him as a regular one drop batsman was not enough now. Now he ahs to take more pressure of not just opening India's bowling, but batting as well. What next. Pathan wicketkeeping as well?

again i agree. if pathan is made to open in the next test, dravid and chappell should be sacked. it would be ludicrous to the extreme. if anything, dravid should go up to open and pathan come in at 7. he may in time be a number 6 but his bowling desperately needs working on. hopefully a chat with wasim would have helped

Wrote the post in the wrong place in response to Ash above.

I was saying that Recall that the last time the Wall opened at Durban he made 24 or 28 not out while the rest of the team collapsed all out for 100.

How poor were South Africa though.

England to win 20-20 world cup. with the experience we have anything less would be a failure

Also, India is yet to be defeated at Jo'burg in tests. Both tests India have played here, ended in draw.

So, we maintain clean state in Jo'burg.Smile

May be that Sree and Zaheer made them look like poor.

I had pointed this out a couple of days back in some other thread, that India always seems to do well in some venues when playing away - Like Port Of Spain in West Indies, Sydney in Australia, Joahansburg in South Africa, Colombo in Lanka.
