This around the time of the second rebel tour to South Africa. Both Curtis and Stephenson had decent records at FC level but were sadly embarrased in their short test careers.

I guess, like Jamie Siddons here, he was just unlucky, with form lapses and/or injuries at just the wrong moments.
Can't honestly answer that one: probably came down to him not performing when it mattered, i.e. in front of a selector. As an aside, Roseberry committed the worst example I have ever seen of open dissent towards an umpire. He had been given out, and boy did he not like that!
