Will it be a cold reception?
Would it happen in Aussie?
Would the world be divided?
Will he get a knighthood?
Will he have to undergo another test to legalise himself?

Warm applause around the world.

Whether he cheats or not, he has still taken a lot of wickets.

Of course, he will be stricken from the records at some point in the future. But until then, why fret?

I guess that's how you want people to behave so you can continue feeling like a victim.

This had nothing to do with me, but plenty to do with TGM.

How can you say it has nothing to do with you, when it is you claiming that everyone will resent Murali's achievemnet because that is what YOU want them to do.

Very poor logic there, Suffolk.

I had thought you one of the less stupid cricket fans . . .

There will always be somebody unhappy with anything. Some people will say Murali throws some of his deliveries, others will say Shane has taken drugs, etc. Just look in the book, is a regular saying. The book doesn't lie.

I say he deserves it more than Warne.

They are equally deserving of what they have achieved.

This is what will happen:

The drug cheat will walk out to the middle and congratulate the chucker when it happens

You should read the Murali vs Warne debate on the BBC about this. It's hard to debate who is greater when one side will say he chucks, benefits from being the main/only bowler (so has more chance of wickets) while the other side will argue his stats are better and he doesn't chuck because someone said so.

I can't see him getting 1000 wickets though, unless he plays nothing but three Test series against Bangladesh from now until four years time. He'd have to be picking up 75 wickets a year which I think is unlikely given the number of Tests Sri Lanka play a year

MuMu is quite aware of the hype and knows he has a funny action and knows he has played against a lot more easy batsmen than Warne...however it will be

He's within the rules, so people need to get over it.

Do you really think so? A friend of mine plays for Essex, and he dead set reckons Murali pings it. He said all FC cricketers have been told NOT to speak about Murali's action to the press or face drastic consequences. Have you had the same talking to, CP?
