kiwis just can't pick up malinga at all.

the aussies had some probs early with him a few years back but he's pretty easy to play once you can see the ball leaving the hand but they look clueless(as they seem to vs most very quick bowlers)

Both teams now have half the pie'o'matches this tour so far. That surely has to change after the 5th ODI though. Can't remember such a balanced series (in terms of number of matches won/lost) having been played recently.

Sadly series like this are close because each team take turns finding a new low rather than both teams raising their games to new levels.

Makes for close cricket but not high quality stuff.

New Zealand never usually have such a poor lower order. They really need Styris and Oram back.

Usually, they're a fairly decent one day outfit, with Astle, Fleming, Styris, Oram, Vettori, Bond

He is probably right, in that with experience we will probably get better at facing Malinga, but we absolutely suck at facing all pace bowlers.

Probably because you don't need to bowl fast to get wickets in NZ.
