It is not so much a lack of interest or commitment as an ongoing lack of sufficient sobriety to log on and post. *hic*

You know, this would be easier if I got a bit more help from people. I can't do everything myself . . .

They'll probably use him in the ODI team and wreck him as a bowler . . .

Aye, he's the next great Aus bowler. Moreso than Johnson I feel. Though I'm sure Johnson will come good - our future bowling lineup of Johnson, Hilfy and Tait looks extremely promising.

Tassie squad for next season: Dane Anderson, George Bailey, Travis Birt, Luke Butterworth, Sean Clingeleffer, David Dawson, Michael Dighton, Michael Di Venuto, Xavier Doherty, Brendan Drew, Chris Duval, Brett Geeves, Adam Griffith, Ben Hilfenhaus (Cricket Australia contract), Jason Krejza, Tim Macdonald, Daniel Marsh, Tim Paine, Ricky Ponting (CA), Damien Wright. Rookies Alex Doolan, James Faulkner, Jason Shelton, Jeremy Smith, Jonathan Wells. No major suprises. Anderson & Duval have been upgraded from rookie to full contracts. Krejza & Macdonald have been given contracts after moving from NSW & WA respectively. Only sad thing is my old mate Andy Downton has been dropped after failing to recover from a serious knee injury.

So who do the Tozzies think should be in our starting XI next season. I'd say Di Venuto Paine Dighton Birt Bailey Marsh (captain) Clingeleffer + Butterworth Wright Hilfenhaus Griffith Drew would then be the next paceman in line I'd say. If a fulltime spinner is wanted then Krejza could take a bowlers spot and Butterworth to bat in the top seven. Punter is expected to play more than normal for us due to next summer's international schedule, so when he does I'd drop Paine and put Dighton up to open. Both Paine and Bailey on notice - too babyfaced, and they'd struggle to grow the type of facial hair that Diva, Hilfy, Punter, Clingy et al are famous for

A pretty fair lineup ho. The starting side prettywell picks itself. I agree about Paine being on notice but i think Bailey has the potential to step up to be a regular contributor.

Apparently Dighton has signed up for Durham or Derbyshire. The di Venuto connection to Derby seems strong. If only Diva could have found this sort of consistency 6-7 years ago.
