I think the locals have been priced out of the market and there arent the amount of tourists they expected
Colville said hotel prices have been slashed in Barbados

I though they had said that some of the games had sold out....... I expect Bang v Ire will have a big crowd given it was supposed to be Ind v Pak........ I'll be there anyway! I guess the Eng games will be pretty busy on Barbados

iam a pakistani fan ..and not surprisingly have always followed cricket, cricket and cricket all my life just because every 1 here is crazy about cricket..but in this worlcup, after watching even the host fans not comming to watch their team play..i have my serious doubts about the "cricket following" all around the world..
i mean westindians dont come to watch their own team play
englishs are crazy about football
s.a's and nz's premiere sport is rugby
and as far as i knw only australians think tht cricket is their no 1 sport.(probably as long as they are no 1 in it ..as we all know tht even their rookie football team can do upsets in football worldcup)
now i wonder y was i so happy when we won the worldcup in 92!!..probably because the word "world cup" was quite decieving for me at tht age .. and probably also because we are neighbour to a mad country, who over the years have been even poorer thn us in cricket but for some odd reason keep following it as a religion!

England home test and ODI Internationals are usually sell-outs being the 'summer' game here but ofcourse footie has the WC/Euro Championships each 2 years.

Given that some of the countries have poupulation of around 100,000, wouldn't iy have made more sense to have capoacity of around 10,000 so we would see few empty seats.

I think some of the grounds actual permanent seating capacity is only around the 10 000 to 12 000 mark, but they have put in some temporary seating during the World Cup.

Yes they do when they can afford it and when they can bring their own food instead of queuing for 2 hours. WIndians are pretty fanatical about cricket (although not as much as 10 or so years ago)
I'm not Welsh........Isn't it?
