curious given the ongoing tension the lankans have about Oz that they persist in appointing Oz coaches

The fact that his name was Trevor wouldn't have helped him much either....

One mudge and the whole crop is ruined ....
I've prepared for the worst case scenario ...but it could be even worse than that

I imagine Bayliss would make a good coach since he was an excellent fielder and as a batsmen he got the maximum out of the limited natural talent he possessed.
Kudos to the Sri Lankan board on this too. Whilst other countries dither around over selecting their new coach they have quickly identified a quality candidate and made the appointment swiftly.

Without unnecessary hype or hoopla too, Gordon.

Yet another aussie as SL coach. They know a good thing when they are on it.

Indians didn't have a list! I admire the way the deal was done smoothly with Moody leaving on good tems and helping the board find out his successor who can work with the players. On top of that the board took the input of players in a constructive way: what kind of coach they wanted rather than who they want as a coach!!

Sri Lanka really do seem to have a very good team ethic going.
Their star players really seem more interested in putting the good of the team first rather than going down the prima donna route.
Therefore I find I cannot hope but wish them all the best.
